General: Stayed for 6 nights. When we arrived for a time of solitude and study we found there was no toilet paper in the home, and several lightbulbs were burnt out making it impossible to get enough light in any area for the work we had rented it to accomplish.
After our arrival I contacted the manager the next morning. We had a discussion over text and he ultimately he made the two hour trip to bring us some TP and lightbulbs. I appreciate his willingness to go the extra mile.
There has obviously been a great deal of work done at some point to make the house livable and that is good. The cleanliness of the home overall was decent but not great. The manager clearly seemed committed to our stay being enjoyable, but the cleaning did the bare minimums. When we arrived the porches and deck were unswept, the sliding door and window tracks were filled with dirt and mud, the dryer had lint for a season in the trap, and other details that I expected to be in better condition. The home does need some updating especially in the area of furniture to be truly comfortable. I would like to have seen at least a small supply of firewood for the wood burning stove as well.
I do not want to nitpick and we did ultimately get our work accomplished and are thankful. I am truly impressed with the managers willingness to go the lengths he did to satisfy those things we brought to his attention, that's good stuff. It seems from observation that the routine care and preparation need work.
Home was nice and clean. Manager was very responsive about check in info. View from the house was so amazing and exactly what I was looking for this trip (sunset was incredible!). Downsides: Neighborhood was hit and miss visually (otherwise quiet and nice). Primary bedroom bed was SO squeaky it was difficult sleep on. But I would probably stay here again.

1970's Mobile home
Our group of three stayed here for one night, and while the view was stunning, the overall experience left much to be desired.
Positives: The view of the sound was fantastic, the property was clean, and the check-in process was smooth and easy, allowing us to settle in without any hassle.
Challenges: The home is an older mobile home with a very "retro" ie orginal feel, and while that might appeal to some, we found the decor and furniture to be quite dated and uncomfortable. The beds were very firm and the big bed was creaky on top of being uncomfortable, which made for a bad night's sleep. The back deck also had some soft spots that raised safety concerns, and the neighboring property looked like it was in need of significant repair, which impacted the overall atmosphere.
While the price was reasonable, at $300 for the night, the comfort level was not what we expected. If you're mainly looking for a budget-friendly option with a great view, this property may work for you, but keep in mind that the accommodations are extremely basic and not updated.

Bugs and ants
Shortly after making coffee the first morning, we had ants in the kitchen. We never cooked in the kitchen, we only had fruit and snacks that we brought so we kept them in the fridge. The second day, we had lots of flying bugs coming out of the Lower wall at picture window in the front sitting room.

Great views but many negatives
Great views! But too many negatives. Futon was literally falling apart. No toaster, 1 wine glass. Windows were open when we arrived. So many spiders! My sister was bitten on her cheek. Missing light bulbs, dirty kitchen curtains, decaying caulk in bathrooms. Front door unusable, and walking to back door on rough ground where suitcases don’t roll. Drip coffee maker was good. Lots of chairs, towels, paper products but no Kleenex. Check out instructions said to pack all sheets, towels and futon cover into washer but it wouldn’t fit or would result in not getting everything clean. House description should include ferry ride required if coming from south. That ferry took us about 2 hours during rush hour!
The property was dirty. There were ants, both alive and dead in the bathroom and by
the door in the living room. The master bath shower does not drain. The sliding door lock is not operating.
The view is awesome and that is the best thing about the house.
Clean, maybe a little dated, but overall nice. Great deck overlooking the bay. Well stocked for dishes, pans, cutlery, paper products. Washer and dryer with unscented laundry soap was a nice surprise, along with an airfryer. Appreciated those! Fireplace nice for cold rainy days was nice too. 2 full bathrooms was appreciated.

Wouldn't stay again
We didn't have much choice as our stay was last minute for a family event, but if there were other options I would take them instead. The place is clean enough and well located with a nice view (other than overlooking the abandoned and overgrown property next door) but it's a very worn-out mobile home with little space to hang out and not a single piece of comfortable furniture anywhere. Not a great value for your money.
We had a great time exploring the island. The house was nice and well stocked. The deck had a great view of the water and we saw seals out playing ever evening.
View from the deck was great, waterfront and Olympics in the background. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and newer, but the furniture was a little tired. Clean and well stocked with supplies. Our dog enjoyed the fully fenced in yard.
It didn't really look much like the pictures. An old Modular house...The showerhead in the hall bathroom was mostly clogged up and came out so hard it was painful... and the window wouldn't close. The bed made so much creaking noise. The window blinds were missing a lot of the slats. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know.
The view from the deck was nice though
We were very comfortable and had everything we needed for our 3 night stay in this quiet and friendly little neighborhood. We thoroughly enjoyed having meals on the deck overlooking the harbor and being surrounded by beautiful trees. A classic taste of Island life!

This house definitely needs some love. Pictures had to be from a few years ago. Furniture is very run down. Property around the house needs to be cleaned up. A lot of overgrown flowers beds and randomly placed stepping stones you need to watch out for. Be prepared to buy plug-ins and candles, place is very odorous! Has a beautiful view!
While the neighborhood around the property is a bit run down, the home itself is clean and well maintained inside. The outside could use some attention. But the deck is spectacular. We spent quite a lot of time soaking up the spring sun and watching the play of light on the waters of Holmes Harbor. And one afternoon, we were lucky enough to observe members of the resident orca J Pod as they headed north. Another day, we caught a glimpse of a gray whale directly below the house, as it briefly surfaced and then disappeared. We also saw eagles, Harbor seals, and many other birds. Other than the racket of early morning birdsong, we found the neighborhood peaceful and quiet. We had a lovely stay and plan to come back again this summer. Don’t forget your binoculars!
The neighborhood is a little shabby but there is a million dollar view! Great price. Everything we needed was here. The owner was very responsive. I would stay here again. We went kayaking in Langley. Loved it. Saw seals!

Disappointed and dumbfounded
The exterior of the property left a lot to be desired. On approach, the blue sign with the house number was the only indication you’d arrived. Due to the overgrown nature of the plants and shrubs and the “parking strip” covered in weeds and randomly placed cement blocks, it took awhile before we knew where to park. It’s a double wide trailer with two side doors. Knowing which door to enter was also a mystery. The door which was closest to the parking space and seemed more like the “front door” had a sign on it to use the other door. The wooden staircases and decking were in poor condition and unsafe in spots. One step that was very loose had a kitchen plastic bag draped over it. Apparently, this was to indicate a problem; but the whole access to that door should have been physically blocked off (if the owner is choosing not to fix it)!! Completely unacceptable and a real hazard. The interior was fairly clean, bedrooms and bathrooms well stocked and comfortable, kitchen was minimally stocked. There were several fans but it was difficult to cool off the place when we arrived in 80 degree weather. It would’ve been nice to go out on the deck when the temperature dropped a little; but I discovered that no attempt to clean or tidy up that area had happened at all. I cleaned off the grilled food and charcoal ashes from the table. But while I was outside, it became apparent that I wouldn’t be able to relax there even after I cleaned up. As was mentioned in another recent review, the neighbor’s trailer and property is extremely dilapidated. The TV never was turned off and the sound constantly carried through a large open window which was near our deck. Also, there’s no umbrella with the table so there’s no shade. Since we could only appreciate the amazing view from inside the house and were not able to go outside and relax, I found another place and moved us halfway through the stay. The owner needs to take these negative reviews seriously, as there was very little about the place that felt like a vacation.

Great view but location/neighborhood is really bad
We booked this at the last moment so there was very little choice for available properties. The listing pictures that are displayed are accurate and the view of the water is phenomenal. HOWEVER, there are no pictures of the neighborhood and the neighborhood is bad. Specifically, the house ( ie trailer home ) on the left-hand side of the rental is a horribly dilapidated structure with broken windows and a severely sagging moss-covered deck,. and a rusted-out white Subaru sitting adjacent to the property line. When we were out on our deck,, trying to enjoy the phenomenal view, there was a guy in that dilapidated trailer home staring at us through a broken window
The rental unit itself (which is a double-wide) is okay. It was clean on the inside but with a deodorizer smell. The front lawn and bushes are severely overgrown and it was difficult to find the rental unit when we first got there. I would not stay there again
met all our needs: a comfortable place to sleep close to a wedding on a busy summer weekend, clean, safe, kitchen in good working order, and (if we had needed it--though we did not bring our dog this time) dog friendly. Also reasonably priced.
