Surrounded by lush, tropical foliage, this home features a large covered lanai, a fenced yard, a newly renovated kitchen, and even an avocado tree that you can enjoy in season. Explore the nearby cliffs during the day, grill up your favorite seafood dinners on the private gas grill each evening, and enjoy the ultimate in peace and quiet and homely accommodations. Ho'ohauoli is located on a quiet street in the community of Hawaiian Shores, only a few minutes from Pahoa Village's great restaurants, shops, and entertainment and six blocks from the ocean front. The cliffside Kahakai Park is only six blocks away, where you can relax on the lawn, sit along the cliffs, and listen to the ocean waves crashing on the shore. You'll also be close to the historic town of Hilo (22 miles north) and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (44 miles west).

Great house to stay in for some relaxation on the east side of the island. Location was 30-35 minutes from Hilo, but no problems navigating all around the east side. And there were some wonderful restaurants nearby!

Second time is still a charm

We stayed here for 3 nights and this was the second time we stayed here. The house is amazing and allows visitors to live more like a local than a tourist. The beds are comfortable and the amenities exceptional. The grill was great to cook on and the lanai super relaxing. I didn't think it would be even better the second time but it was!

Nice Jungle Getaway

The home was exactly as advertised. It was a nice place for my wife and I to enjoy some time away. It was a bit further from Pahoa than we expected, and having to bring our own water for drinking was inconvenient, but overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and used the snorkeling equipment.

Tap water provided by in Hawaii and Pahoa are in compliance with federal health-based drinking water standards. The water is not only drinkable but has a good taste as well. For those who are more sensitive, Hawaii purified bottle water is also available at the local stores.

Amazing Time

This home was a home away from home! Super comfortable, easy access, less than 2 minutes away from a nice sea cliff you can take photos at. Really enjoyed staying here, the owner was very easy to contact if we needed anything and responded very quickly too. 100/100 will definitely be traveling here again in the future.

Very functional and serene getaway

This is a very unique experience we all had. Chirping birds, abundant greenscape, large windows with good cross ventilation, thoughtful amenities throughout. 7 min walk to the ocean. 10 min drive to shopping area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
