This 6-bedroom (5 with full ensuites) is surrounded by a wall to keep your pets safe. This exquisite escape is perfect for groups of couples on a weekend getaway or attending a local wedding. The gardens are beautiful and peaceful the house is unique in character and charm. The rooms are excellently appointed and the kitchen is well-equipped. The large pool and deckside amenities (note: the pool is closed from November through May). Excellent barbecue facilities with both a regular propane barbecue and a top-of-the-line Traeger smoker. You will find a full bath in the pool house to add to your relaxation.

Girls just wanna have fun

Five ladies in my family enjoyed our stay here very much. The location is ideal to easily drive to local wineries. The swimming pool was clean and so relaxing. We could easily cook together in the kitchen, which is well-stocked with quality dishes, pots and pans, and plenty of glasses. It was very nice that each of the five bedrooms has its own bathroom. I would recommend this place!

This is a destination house in the heart and some fine wine country. What a fun house with interesting history. We hosted a celebration of life, a 50 wedding anniversary and 73 birthday. We had 13 staying at the house with two coming for the days. It was so comfortable space wise. The beds were so comfortable. Kitchen was great. The owner and caretaker easy to work with. We had so much fun in the pool and hot tub. The BBQ area was also a hit. Would recommend 109%

Perfect birthday pad

Really unique place to stay for my birthday! Pool gets shaded in early afternoon to keep you out of the heat. Really great communication with property manager. Would love to stay again.

Our Relaxing Trip

We had a great time at this home. The pool was the big attraction that all four generations enjoyed multiple times each day. The kitchen is spacious and the dining tables are arranged so we could all eat in the same room. There are several nook areas to sit and read in. We had a very relaxing trip.

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The character of the house was truly amazing and it made our stay even more enjoyable. There was plenty of room for our family and friends. Wine weekend

This place was a great place to hang with friends. Spacious accommodations and well appointed kitchen. The rain tried to dampen our good time but after being wet and cold coming home to a comfortable sit by the fireplace was ideal. Thank you so much to the owner for letting us in early to set up for our group! We can’t wait to do it all again next year sans rain!

Hidden Treasure

A very unique property

A delightful stay

We are a repeat traveler to this VRBO, and it is perfect for our group of friends looking to spend some time together and get away on a vacation. The home is well maintained, is large and spacious, and has amenities for adults and for children. Our kids said they wanted to stay there until the summer, and although we can't do that, we said we could definitely return sometime. It is a pleasure working with Matthew who is a helpful and generous host.

Birthday celebrations

Based on another person's recommendation, we booked our birthday celebration stay with Matthew/Hidden Garden and we had a wonderful stay. The property (inside & out) was maintained, clean, and easy access to all Amador has to offer. Matthew was timely communicative with any and all questions. I highly recommend staying at Hidden Garden or other properties offered by Matthew.

I have worked for IBM, Siemens, TRW, Borland, ROLM, XaCCT, Compuware, Blackstone, iSOA Group, Macrovision and others. I am the co-inventor on a number of patents and have served as a City Councilmember, Vice Mayor and Mayor for a city. Additionally, I served on a School Board for 12 years and Board President for three years. My biggest accomplishment is marrying my beautiful and loving wife and raising our amazing kids!

It is a gem in the heart of the Shenandoah Wine region. It is private, peaceful, and magnificent. A wonderful canopy of trees, so even during the hottest days, the property feels comfortable and private. It makes a truly enjoyable getaway for multiple couples and families!

Peace, Serenity, and incredible wines within a 5-mile radius. This is what Napa and Sonoma once were like half a century ago when they were comprised of smaller, more intimate wineries.
