Expansive grounds, well-appointed living spaces, and privacy make our property a spectacular retreat for friends and family to gather in the heart of Sonoma wine country. This pastoral estate offers a modern aesthetic with a zen-like tranquility, just a one-hour drive from San Francisco. We offer the main house, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and multiple spacious common areas for our guests to share quality time together.
Contemporary chic meets country charm, with designer upgrades and unique touches within each interior living space. A gated entry grants guests access to 14 acres of delightful grounds nestled in a peaceful glen filled with lawns, gardens, live oak and olive trees, and views of nearby wooded hills, as well as ample parking. A sun-splashed outdoor living area offers guests a chance to both swim in a large pool and enjoy lounging in one of the many chaise-lounges or cushioned chairs. The solar-heated pool is typically a comfortable water temperature only from late May to late Sept., depending on weather. During the other months, we offer propane gas heating to 86 degrees for your entire stay for an additional $500 (if interested, we require at least 7 business days advance notice and upfront payment). This space is also equipped with a six-seat hot tub, outdoor kitchen (including gas grill, sink, and undercounter refrigerator), outdoor heated shower, gas fire table, patio gas heater, sofas, large dining table, and a stunning shaded pergola to make every gathering a truly idyllic experience. A wood deck completes the ultimate luxury getaway on this private country estate.
Our property is ideally located in the exclusive eastern foothills of Sonoma, just 3.5 miles from the vibrant 8-acre Sonoma Plaza that defines Sonoma’s town center and where visitors and locals alike enjoy historic sites, fine dining, tasting rooms, a farmers market, shopping, and community events. You will be surrounded by the charms of Sonoma’s rustic yet refined locale featuring bucolic scenery, mission-era history, and world-class wines. Gundlach Bundschu, Buena Vista, and other wineries are only a scenic 10-minute drive away. In addition, the towns of Glen Ellen, Kenwood, and Napa are within 15 miles of the property. Local hiking and biking opportunities for all levels abound.
The main house (approximately 2000 sq. ft.) - sleeps up to 6 adults:
• Two large master bedrooms with king beds and en suite full bathrooms
• Gourmet, fully stocked kitchen with Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances
• Open-style dining room with a dining table for 10 people
• Living room with queen sofa sleeper and privacy doors
• TV/entertainment area with sectional sofa adjacent to the kitchen
• Sunrooms and outdoor decks adjoining the living room and bedrooms
• Side patio with picnic table, beautiful landscaped terraces and walkways
• Central heating and air-conditioning
• Satellite cable TV and WiFi internet
• Approximately a half-minute walk from the pool
NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS not disclosed on the reservation.
NO EARLY CHECK-IN before 4:00, as we know from experience that guests will not be satisfied with less cleaning for an earlier check-in time.
NO DISCOUNTS can be offered since we believe our property is priced appropriately for the amenities that we provide.
You will enjoy the entire main house for your private use. The owners may use an additional detached structure when unavoidable, but generally do not occupy the property while guests are staying. We never rent to more than one party at a time, so your group will have exclusive access to the pool area and grounds.
All house rules below are strictly enforced, due to county regulations and home insurance policies. Any violation of the property policies may result, at the discretion of the owners, in an immediate cancellation of the remainder of the reservation and a forfeiture of any payments or deposits made.
• NO ADDITIONAL GUESTS (including daytime guests) are allowed on the property at any time that are not declared on your vacation rental agreement. This is required by our County rental permit and our property insurance, so we strictly enforced it.
• NO DOGS OR PETS (no exceptions), including service and assistance animals, are allowed on the property at any time, since this would create a health and safety hazard for the owners who have severe allergies.
• No music, voices, or any other sounds loud enough for any of the property’s neighbors to hear at all are allowed during the SONOMA COUNTY QUIET HOURS FROM 9:00 PM TO 7:00 AM.
• NO SMOKING on the premises at any time, including outdoors due to fire concerns. The use of fire is strictly limited to the gas fire pit, gas grill, and guest patio heater in the pool area. No open flames shall be left unattended at any time.
• NO SHOES are allowed to be worn in the houses, and shoes must be removed before entering the house. House slippers or sandals not previously used outdoors can be worn in the houses.
• NO GLASSWARE is allowed in the pool and hot tub area at any time for safety reasons.
• If you use the pool, you must CLOSE THE AUTOMATIC POOL COVER when finished, and never leave the cover open overnight (otherwise pine needles will destroy the motor).
• Great care must be taken not to clog the toilets with excessive sanitary paper or debris, since we have an independent septic system. Only toilet paper should be flushed down the toilets.
• Water and electricity must be conserved whenever possible. In particular, heating and cooling systems must be turned off when no one is in the house.
