We had a wonderful time. The house looked just like the pictures except more spacious. The host had shampoo and all of the toiletries that I always forget. The view was beautiful. We would definitely stay there again!
We really enjoyed the cabin. There is a lot of room for everyone in our group. The kitchen was well stocked for our needs. We loved having dock access and kayaking. We would definitely recommend staying here.
We stayed at this property recently and had a mixed experience.Positives first: the location was excellent, especially the lakeside setting. The HVAC system worked well, communication with the host was good, and we appreciated the stocked supplies (trash bags, dishwasher pods) and access to streaming services. However, there were several concerns future guests should be aware of:* A non-functioning refrigerator on the back porch had visible mold inside.* We observed mold/mildew under one sink, and there was a noticeable mildew odor in parts of the home. Towels also smelled musty and needed to be washed before use.* Shower drainage was slow, and there was visible mildew on the shower curtains.* The hot tub was leaking onto the deck, creating standing water, debris, and increased bugs/mosquitoes, so we avoided the back porch.* A window would not lock, raising safety concerns.* An accessible lower-level/basement area appeared unmaintained, with no clear restriction or secure separation. It looked like a storage space with clutter and was visible from the exterior patio.* The dock and exterior areas showed signs of disrepair, with loose and stored items making the property feel cluttered.Overall, while the location and some amenities were enjoyable, the cleanliness and maintenance issues—particularly related to mold and safety—were concerning.
The facility was great. Location, great, clean and accommodating. Plenty of space. Close to everything we wanted to do around and in Hit Springs. Our contact Annie, returned my call immediately when I had a question. She was great!

I did not have a hot tub that worked on this property when this group stayed and the web sight did not show one however after this comment was made I purchased one and it works great!
The home and the view were great. But, even though it's advertised as lakefront property with use of canoes and kayaks, we were informed the day of our check in that the lakes too low to actually use those items as advertised
We had a peaceful and relaxing stay in December 2022. Due to the cold weather we spent more time in town, and the location was not convenient for driving back and forth, but once at the cabin, everything was great. The cabin is spacious and well stocked—it feels like a home, not a “rental.” The hot tub, grill & fire pit are all in working order and easy to use. Excellent communication with the host as well. Due to the weather being cold, we didn’t use the kayaks or canoe, but they and the dock were still accessible, even with the lake water level being lowered for winter. The boys fished off the dock and the rest of us enjoyed watching the geese and bald eagles!. Thank you!
Pictures of the property had us fooled. There are four bedrooms with 2 kings, 1 queen, 1 full and two twin beds. The kitchen is large and the dining room area was also large. Now the downside, we had booked 5 nights, on night three we noticed a cupcake partially pulled out of the container with some of it eaten and crumbs on the floor of the dining room. Night 4 we found mouse or rat droppings in the living room, we followed the trail and found lots under the love seat with holes in the bottom of the furniture where something had been chewing. Then behind the TV we found our loaf ofbread that was pulled out of the kitchen and eaten in the living room. There was also an area by the door to the patio where it looked like a critter dug its way in or out.
The house needs some general upkeep, the hot pads had burned holes in them and were stained, the bathroom upstairs only had a lightbulb as a fixture, no cover. The upstairs bathroom shower head is maybe 4 ft off the floor of the tub so if you are tall, good luck washing your hair. The smoke detectors had been removed from the bedrooms, the ceiling up stairs in front of the bathroom has Sheetrock removed a piece of board up there. There is trim missing in various places and the hot tub skirting needs fixed. The patio smells like smoke but inside does not.
I messaged the owner about the rodent problem and we left a day early because of it. She agreed to refund my last night that we left but I have not received the refund yet.
We had a great stay. My husband and our adult children with our dogs. We enjoyed the use of the canoes and kayaks. The hot tub was great. The lake house was very roomy and had everything we needed. Not too far from a grocery. My husband loved fishing off the deck in the back.
The cabin was nice. Location on the lake was beautiful. The large enclosed back deck with a view of the lake was great. We could contact the property owner before renting it. But once there, we had questions about the upstairs TV and something else. But she never responded. Disappointed in lack of communication. But lovely cabin, which can truly house 10 adults. Or 8 and 2 kids.

The property was beautiful, right on Lake Hamilton. Neighbors were close on one side and they were nice. No complaints from either side. Back porch with screened windows was nice and roomy. It was a great place for morning prayers and meditation. The 4 rooms were nice and roomy. All bedrooms had some form if fan, either box or oscillator, which made us all happy being we all usually sleep with fans at our own homes. They were dusty though. My daughter cleaned the box fan in her room. Kitchen had a lot of pots, nice coffee maker. But the pots hanging above the island were very dusty. But no problem. We just quickly rinsed them. There was even plenty Dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent.. We found a lot of lids for bowls but no bowls to use with them. Also a lid for a pitcher but no pitcher. We had a little problem with the refrigerator , and had to call (Anne, the owner) but we reset it . it was digital and needed resetting. After our outing on Friday we returned to the AC not running. I texted Annie again and did not get a reply. We turned the AC off for about 35 minutes, then turned it back on. I noticed it was WiFi controlled. (Hmmm?). We got our workout with the stairs outside and inside ( especially the 3 of us that used the bedrooms upstairs.). So if u have problems with stairs, this is not the place for you. The Hot tub was a big hit. It helped our soreness from walking at the destinations we went to and the stair climbing. We were 7 Ladies . 4 over the age of 55 and 3 under age 40. Hot springs is a gorgeous place to visit, I will plan another getaway, but next time it will be single story. This 61 year old arthritic lady hurts. Thank you Anne for renting this gorgeous home.
We are so happy we chose to stay here. The view from the backyard is absolutely beautiful and the house had plenty of room for the 5 of us. We were sad to leave, and would definitely stay here again!
We had such a great time staying at this lake/river house! We loved having a dock right in the backyard and canoes and kayaks to adventure with. The water was absolutely beautiful! We also loved being able to relax in the hot tub after a day of playing in the water.
The house itself was clean and spacious. It seems bigger in person than it does in the pictures. 4 large bedrooms and 1 smaller bathroom, one large one with a washer and dryer. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed having a big kitchen to cook and hang out in. We will definitely book this house again if we return to hot springs!
Anne was a great host and responded quickly when we had a question. No complaints!
We enjoyed the beautiful relaxing Ouachita River. The family had a wonderful time playing in the river with kayaking and fishing. The home was family friendly and even out pets enjoyed it.
Great place to stay on the lake. Had a great time fishing and canoeing and lounging in the hot tub. Good location to enjoy days at the cabin while still not far from Hot Springs and the surrounding attractions
Wonderful spot on the water for relaxing and time with family!
Lots of space, comfy beds, large kitchen and great hot tub!

About the host
Hosted by Annie Showalter
I am from California. I fell in love with Arkansas green woods, the lakes, mountains, and the friendly people. Me and my 5 children moved here in 2000. WE lived in the house for 5 years. It is a great kid house. I currently live in an apartment on the property. I am happy to assist any way I can
Why they chose this property
The lake is beautiful and it is a quiet neighborhood on a flat dead end street. great for walks and riding bikes fishing, swimming, relaxing in the Hot tub, playing on the canoe or kayaks.
What makes this property unique
I love sitting on the enclosed porch looking out at the lake and hearing my kids play. Or sitting in the hot tub looking out at lake or up at stars with a refreshment on a cool evening.
