Very unique cabin on a desirable location of South Tenmile Lake. The cabin has its own private dock, flat land, and forest. The furniture is handmade by the original owner. Because it is only accessible by boat, you will need to bring your boat or you can rent a boat. Local marinas offer rental boats. Tenmile Lake has very warm water and excellent fishing. The marinas offer various lake toys for rent. The cabin is stocked with everything you will need other than food. There are plenty of towels and linens, cooking supplies, hygiene supplies, and there is even a washer and dryer. The cabin is very well cared for and cherished. It has been closed this past year for maintenance and upgrades so now it is better than ever! Oregon Sand Dunes and the ocean are a 5-minute drive away! Plenty of activities in the area and without even leaving.

Had a wonderful stay. Family really enjoyed it. The house is comfortable and the dock is nice. The kids stayed most of time on the dock swimming. Fishing is good right from the dock. Caught my limit of trout everyday we were there.
This property is an oasis from a crazy world. Accessible only by boat and situated on a quiet inlet, we were forced to take a deep breath and do nothing. The cabin is a well loved home and abounds with family memorabilia. If you are looking for a swanky, sterile, turn- key property this is NOT it. This is comfortable and well appointed. It has a dock, fire pits, great kitchen, resident deer and cats, a large flat yard, kayaks, canoe, floaties. The daytime temp rarely gets above 75-even when Portland was registering 100! And during wildfire season it has clean air(sorry to say this is the new issue for summertime). Fishing was fair. We only left the lake once-to get fresh oysters/seafood from Coos Bay. Mmmmmmmm.
Very sweet cabin on a quiet cove on the lake. Easy boat access with a Pontoon from Ringo's (They were really nice). Wonderful, private, quiet property with nice land for us and our dogs to run and swim. Cabin itself is a cool, cozy tri-level layout, perfect for our group of 4 humans and 2 dogs. Comfortable king mattress (thank you, I'm aging). I can't honestly say I would change a thing. Just wonderful authentic cabin lake living. Host was awesome, flexible, shifted our stay a day for us last minute (Thank you!), and gave us a mellow late checkout. The negative? I had to leave and go back to the real world.
I cannot review the property as we had to cancel our stay. I can review the communication issues with the host. Communication with the host was difficult. The night before our stay the host communicated there were cats on the property, which did not work for us, this was not disclosed beforehand. We requested information about how to rent the kayaks if we wanted to, not to rent them. A charge was added to our stay for kayak rentals. When we had to cancel we asked for a partial refund, for example, the cleaning fee seems reasonable to refund as we did not stay, thus no cleaning was required. Instead, she offered to reschedule, to which we replied we would be open to rescheduling but it would be years away, so not right now, and again asked about a partial refund. Instead, she initiated a 'hold for reschedule charge'. I called VRBO immediately, spoke with them and this property manager on the phone. The property manager said she would not charge us the hold for reschedule fee because it was for someone else. The property manager also verbally agreed to refund the kayak rental fee and would consider a partial refund. We did not receive a refund for the kayaks as verbally stated. We were charged a fee for rescheduling, again, against the verbal agreement not to. At this point I would not take the word of this host to be trustworthy. I would recommend against anyone doing business with them.
Rustic and whimsical
We had a beautiful relaxing four days here. The cabin is well appointed. Thoughtful touches abound if you bring your dog. From the dog feeding station to the little ramp out of the water an
Great Location/Great trip ... some improvements needed
The location of this property is unbeatable. If you are looking for a tucked away, wind-blocked location on the lake for family to spread out and enjoy the outdoors, this is your location. The lawn and firepit are unique to the Lakeside homes, while the dock location is very desirable. Our family of four had a tremendously relaxing 5 days in this home, while also enjoying some time with our visiting relatives & their dog a couple of the days we were there. With 1.5 bathrooms, 2 sleeping locations, a large grass lawn and a well located dock, we had plenty of space to enjoy the property without feeling on top of each other. Our first night there we were greated by a pair of deer, and later in our stay greeted by a momma dear and her newborn. We saw many birds, heard the bullfrogs nightly and were visited by the homeowners dog a couple of times. We also caught numerous fish off the dock (bass, perch, catfish and trout) and took multiple kayak & canoe ride around the neighborhood. I can't say it enough, the ability to spread out on this property and it's location on the lake.
We do feel compelled to share a few of the other issues that we were not fully expecting. Hopefully it will help others in determining if the home is right for them. (1) There are no window coverings on 2 of the 3 sleeping spaces. This results in awfully early mornings, which our teenager and myself were not real fond of. (2) The master bedroom door does not close and does not reach the celling of the home. Between the lack of window coverings and the door being 1/2 opened, my husband and I had very little privacy while changing or sleeping. (3) Our 9-year-od stayed in the guest room, which could use some redecorating. While he enjoyed the starts that shown on the walls/ceiling at night, he (and the rest of us) felt that the room decorations themselves were a bit much.
(4) This home is very dog friendly. Unfortunately this means that there is dog hair everywhere. (5) There was no welcome packet or directions for how to interact with the home. We had no directions for how the property owner wanted to home left on our departure and had to send an email to the host asking for the wifi password and key code to the door. These are ALL issues that the homeowner could easily fix. While they were a nuisance while we were there, I can honestly say that we would strongly consider renting this home again in the future. It's location is hard to beat.
We spent a week in Gretta’s cabin. The cabin was well equipped with books and other curiosities. The lake was beautiful, with lots of local wildlife to appreciate. Greta was very kind, and super accommodating - offering to arrange our boat taxi, let us use her kayaks, and even delivering fishing equipment and worms when my daughter decided she wanted to go fishing. We also brought our dog, and found the area to be very pet friendly! Highly recommend!!
We enjoyed our stay at this rustic lakeside cabin. It perfectly situated at a corner of the lake so the water was calm most of the time, perfect for swimming, stand-up paddle boarding and fishing.
Very peaceful and out of the way. If you want a vacation out of the hustle and bustle, this is a wonderful place to get back to nature, fish, and relax.
We visited the paradise lake cabin for our anniversary with our two dogs. It’s a perfect place to go if your looking for a relaxing getaway. It’s a really cute, kinda rustic cabin in a beautiful location. It’s a great place to take the dogs, it’s very dog friendly with lots of space for dogs to run and play outside. We would definitely go back.
We had the best week with our little family - two adults and 2 kids, age 8. The cabin is perfectly nestled in trees in a quiet bay on Tenmile Lake. Perfect dock for swimming and a big yard for yard games and running around. The host was courteous and helpful and the cabin was very comfortable. (We had fun counting stars hidden around the cabin.) We highly recommend it!!

Lovely setting
Our family stayed here the last week of July, 2020. It was really nice to get away from the virus for a bit. The setting is quite lovely with lots of wildlife to see. We especially enjoyed the aerial show the Ospreys put on. Pros: The front bedroom has a great view of the lake and a very comfy bed. There are plenty of towels and bedding supplied. The furniture is gorgeous. There is WiFi though it is a bit spotty. Lots of board games. Nice fire pit with plenty of firewood.
Cons: There are no window coverings for the front windows of the cabin...makes for an early morning. There is no TV. There are no walking paths, you are either on the property or on the lake. Some seating for the upstairs deck would be nice. If you are bringing children please keep in mind there are many missing railings and the decking/dock are not meant for bare feet.
Overall it was a relaxing and much needed getaway. The owner, while not exactly on site is very close by and happy to help.
Our family of 4 had a fantastic time at Gretta's cabin. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was clean. There is a charcoal grill so don't forget to bring charcoal. There is a market right next to Ringo's marina to stock up on essentials. We rented a pontoon from Ringo's for the week so that we could cruise around the lake every day but they do have a water taxi as well. Gretta is so friendly and accommodating and very easy to work with. We will definitely be back!!
The property was awesome very comfortable very clean beautiful house ! There are several deer in the backyard the Buck was about a 4 point white tail we enjoyed watching him stand up on his hind legs eating Apple's from the apple tree The Marina down on the other end of the Lake was fairly priced for Rentals so we were able to rent a boat and drive all over the Lake I did a lot of fishing right off the dock of the paradise cabin we had a great time spent 4 days and the price was very appropriate for the fun and rest and relaxation we had .Gretta is great , she took care of . She has a very nice property ..THANK YOU GRETTA
This was just the right property to let our dog off the leash to play in the water and relax by the lake. It's no frills but has most of what you need. The owner is friendly and accommodating. We stayed with 3 teenagers and rented a boat. We could tube in the cove without many other boats which was awesome! NIce place and beautiful setting.
We needed a place to take the dogs to let them be dogs, they ran and swam the whole time we were here! This property is tucked in a corner of the lake with a great fishing spot and morning/all day sun and actual useable yard to sit by the fire pit and watch all the boats on the lake. No TV in the house which ended up being great for our long weekend getaway.
