A character home in the medieval village of Caunes Minervois, nestled at the foot of the Montagne Noire, in the heart of the Languedoc wine-growing region, Cathar country and Tour de France territory. About the host
Your host
I am an architect and author. My husband is also an architect and a photographer. This house was either serendipity or insanity. It's been a 6 year journey. Caunes Minervois gets into your soul.
I love animals, mad about dogs, can be an animal rights and ethical-food dictator if left to my own devices. My son has been a vegetarian since the day he was old enough to spit meat out. My daughter is a committed carnivore. My husband Justin likes peculiar mid seventies music and restores even older peculiar bicycles .
Why they chose this property
I just knew it as soon as we walked in. We're architects. That means sucker-for-punishment in all languages. This is the third house we've taken apart and refurbished extensively. It's the only one we were clever enough not to live in while we did it.
What makes this property unique
It's in the heart of the medieval village and in the heart of the country.
