The Hawkins House | Historic 1880s Charm in Downtown Pensacola
Step into history at **The Hawkins House**, affectionately known as **The Red Door**, a beautifully restored 1880s home in downtown Pensacola. Nestled along a peaceful side street, this spacious 2,000-square-foot retreat blends historic Southern charm with modern comforts, offering an inviting getaway for families, couples, and friends.
Inside, soaring ceilings, abundant natural light, thoughtfully curated furnishings, and preserved 19th-century architectural details reflect the home's rich character. The open-concept living and dining areas provide welcoming spaces to gather, while the well-appointed kitchen and comfortable accommodations make it easy to settle in and feel at home.
Accommodating up to six guests, The Hawkins House features two bedrooms, an adjoining bunk room, and two-and-a-half bathrooms.
Sleeping Arrangements & Bathroom Layout
MAIN FLOOR | KING BEDROOM + ADJOINING BUNK ROOM
The primary bedroom features a king-size bed, dresser, and walk-in closet. An adjoining bunk room offers twin-over-twin bunk beds, accommodating two additional guests. A sliding barn door separates the two sleeping areas.
The spacious downstairs full bathroom features a walk-in shower and a classic clawfoot soaking tub.
IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ: DOWNSTAIRS MASTER BATHROOM ACCESS
The downstairs full bathroom is located beyond the bunk room. Guests staying in the king bedroom must walk through the bunk room to access the shower and bathtub. Because the bunk room also serves as the passageway to this bathroom, it does not offer complete privacy, particularly when the bathroom is in use.
For added convenience, a separate half bathroom is located in the downstairs hallway and can be accessed without passing through either bedroom.
We encourage guests traveling together to consider this unique layout when planning sleeping arrangements.
SECOND FLOOR | QUEEN BEDROOM
The upstairs bedroom features a queen-size bed and its own private full bathroom with a bathtub, offering a comfortable retreat separate from the main-floor sleeping areas.
IMPORTANT – STAIRCASE ACCESS: The upstairs bedroom is accessible via a narrow staircase with 15 steps. Please consider this when booking, especially if you have mobility limitations.
