Paula is an amazing host! The home was more than expected and perfect for our weekend. From the moment I arrived, I felt a weight lifted from my shoulders. A truly refreshing, relaxing, inviting home. We'll be booking again!
We had a fantastic stay! From all the amenities to a fully stocked kitchen, we couldn't have been happier with the house. The layout worked perfectly for our large group during graduation weekend. There was plenty of space to spread out but also a large dining room table to sit together. The host was also very easy to communicate with and made the whole process seamless. We plan on renting it again the next time we are in town. Highly recommend!
This is a beautiful home on the lake with lots of privacy and an incredible amount of space for family and friends. There are options for indoor and outdoor dining that were both used and both perfect for the occasions. This place is a gem, quite a large gem at that. The owner, Paula is incredible and very responsive in support for any questions we had. I give this place and Paula the highest recommendation I can.
This was a great place for us to visit Michigan from our home in New York and reconnect with friends and family. The kids loved the playroom and everyone enjoyed the lake. We would definitely return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
This home was great for our family gathering to celebrate our grandsons graduation from Chelsea high school…All the furnishings and bedding are high quality and the house is equipped with all the amenities of a lake home!!! The outdoor space is incredible….. with th a large deck, tennis courts and kayaks and paddle board and life jackets too!!! We had a great stay and will go back firbithet family events!
This home exceeded our expectations at every turn! More amenities than I could ever name. The play room was perfect for our 2,4,5 and 7 year old grands. The beach area was also just perfect for littles to play and fish. Every need was anticipated right down to sunscreen and snacks! This is now the standard every future rental will be held to.
We had ten adults and four young children/toddlers. All fit comfortably at the property. Lots of stuff for the kids to do. The host assisted us with a boat rental, but there was also kayaking and other activities for the lake. Great communication with the host. Would recommend this property in the future.
We had ages 6-75 stay in this charming home. There was plenty of space for everyone and plenty of things for all ages to do. Everything was clean and in working order. Our only regret is that we wanted MORE sunshine so we could take more advantage of the beautiful outdoors.A true treat!
Such a great gathering house! Gorgeous sunsets on the lake. Plenty of room to spread out. Huge tables in the dining and screen porch for big family meals. Fun and games for everyone!
We have 3 toddlers and this house was the perfect place to stay for our family of 5! The kids loved the playroom, perfect space for them! Paula is an amazing host who went above and beyond for us! Would love to stay here in the summer when we can experience the lake! Highly recommend!!
We had planned to host Christmas at our remodeled home. However, backorderd items halted those efforts and we needed plan b. Paula came to the rescue and the beautiful house was perfect for our large party. She was prompt with her responses and was kind enough to decorate with a Christmas tree that made it feel like home. We are very appreciative and will return for future rentals.
What a perfect place for a family get-together! Plenty of room, well-equipped, and most certainly child-friendly! We were in Michigan for a family wedding and to visit with lots of relatives on MiMa's side, including her 95-year-old mother. Even with iffy weather, everyone had a wonderful time. The last evening, our valiant oldest grandson (who just turned 7 in April) took the plunge -- actually several plunges -- into the very cool lake water. The other boys (almost 4 and almost 7) tried, but stuck close to shore in shallow water. Only one grown-up got into the water. Everyone also enjoyed a campfire and s'mores (thank you, Paula!) the same evening.
We had a great time. Many activities to keep the entertainment going. The lake is very nice and not busy. We paddled the lake every day and tubed a couple times.
Large screen room to hang out in if it rains, and a plenty of space in the house if some quiet time is needed.
Boats to paddle, a tennis court, basketball, scooters, a little beach area, everyone had fun.
We rented this for me, my wife and our two daughters and also my daughter and her family (husband and four kids from 3 - 11). It was a wonderful time. Loved the beach and water - the kids did a lot of swimming and playing on the large mat. The kayaks and paddleboard were used a lot, too. Fishing was good - my grandson caught several fish, including two largemouth bass. We used the tennis court a lot for pickleball, tennis and a good area to play catch. The tennis and pickleball rackets and balls were great quality. Inside was huge and clean. Great kitchen. Two fridges. Huge playroom, with large couch that was used by one daughter to sleep on. All the beds were nice. Two grandkids loved the xbox and games. Loved the screened-in porch. We ate several times in Chelsea, which is just 13 minutes or so away. Dexter was close, too. Ann Arbor isn't far also. We'd definitely come back.
The home was one of the nicest ones at which we've stayed. We had a family week with a total of 9 adults, 1 teenager and 1 toddler. The huge game room was a great hangout for all. The toddler was happy with all of the toys provided! And the adults had plenty of comfortable couch to watch the Olympics in the evenings. We also liked the enclosed porch for our morning coffee. The home was so well supplied with paper products, kitchen appliances, dishes, pans, etc. The special touches of the Keurig coffee pot with a big variety of coffee pods included, as well as a regular coffee pot were appreciated. There was also a basket of S'more fixings, firewood if you wanted an outdoor fire - it was a hot week, so we didn't do that. Also a counter basket of Snacks, special food items, etc. We felt very welcome, and thoroughly enjoyed the week.
We had a wonderful stay at this home! It had everything you could need (plenty of towels, fully stocked kitchen, etc.) and was super homey. My 2 year son LOVED the playroom and all the toys that came with it (especially all the hot wheels cars!), and had a great time scooting around in the outdoor toys as well.
The outdoor area of the house is fantastic. We got plenty of use out of the tennis court playing Pickle Ball and tennis, took the canoe out for several trips, and the kids loved splashing around in the shallow beach water.
We built a fire in the evenings and enjoyed sitting out by the lake.
The house is right by the Pinckney Recreation area, so we were able to get to some pretty awesome wooded trails and did some hiking. And the house is also located only 10-15 minutes from two adorable little towns (Chelsea and Dexter) where grocery stores, and restaurants with takeout options were available.
Our only minor issue with the house was one of the guestroom bedframes was broken, but the property manager is working to get it fixed! I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing lake getaway, especially families with young children. :)

Glad you had a great time! Thanks for the heads up on the guest bedroom frame... it has been repaired! Come stay with us again, we would love to have you!
Our family stay was decent overall, but there were several disappointments that future renters should be aware of.The interior of the home was clean, well-stocked, and most rooms were comfortable, which we appreciated. However, many of the outdoor amenities did not meet expectations based on the listing. The deck furniture was in poor condition and not nearly as inviting as pictured. The screened-in porch also looked much nicer in the photos than it did in person. One major letdown was the fire pit. The listing led us to believe there would be a Solo Stove on the deck, but instead, there was a makeshift brush pile at the water’s edge—not at all what we expected or felt comfortable using. Additionally, the listing included photos of a hot tub, but it was not available as part of the rental. We also experienced some electrical issues during our stay, which was frustrating. And while the lakefront location is nice, swimming from the shore isn’t really an option due to heavy plant growth in the water near and beyond the dock.Important tip: check the property thoroughly upon arrival. We were charged a large fee for a broken window we did not cause, and since the owner is not local, resolving the issue was difficult. Also, if essentials like propane are missing, you’ll need to go buy them yourself and request reimbursement. For the price, we expected a more polished and hassle-free experience. I wish previous reviews had been more honest-we probably would not have booked.
We absolutely loved our stay at this house. First, it's only 30 minutes outside Ann Arbor so convenient short drive to airport and Greater Detroit area. Despite being close to metro, it felt incredibly private despite being close to other houses on lake. The house is on a calm cove/bay of larger lake, so swimming area of beach was always quiet and calm. Second, the house has seemingly every amenity! We had two 1-year-olds and two 5-year-olds and it was extremely kid friendly. In retrospect we probably didn't need to bring anything of our own as they have playroom, pack and play, beach toys, scooters, outside toys, etc. They even bought two high chairs and child locks for us to use. The baby gate at stairs was clutch so could have one year olds crawl around in main area by kitchen. We loved the screened in porch for dinners, the beach was shallow and sandy with canoe, kayak, and paddle board, the tennis court was good for tennis but also for kids scootering around. Third, the house was stocked extremely well with supplies we needed (aka we didn't say "where is X or wish we had Y) and the hot/cold water station was surprising great as the tap water was well water like. Overall, great vacation and nice touch with the welcome basket. Thanks for having us!
Bring your own towels and take pictures of EVERTHING when you get there and when you leave
The initial check-in process was fine. Once we arrived to the home we noticed the hot tub was not in working order. After contacting the host she said it is not included as part of the stay. (Then it shouldn’t be in the pictures or it should clearly say it is not in working order). The 1st night when going to bed there were no sheets on one of the beds and no spares. We had to use blankets from other beds. We had a group of 14 people and there were not even 14 towels for in the home for showering. We had to contact the host and the cleaning service had to bring sheets and towels the next day. They don’t provide hand towels for the upstairs bathrooms so you either use your showering towel or just shake off your hands. The down stairs bathroom has commercial style paper towels holders. The cleaning service went into each room to count towels. Maybe there is a towel shortage in Michigan? They only have 12 outside towels so for large groups using the home bring extra. 8 days after leaving I got an email and additional false charges from the host claiming there was damages to a window. This is a false claim by the host and we are disputing it. If it wasn’t for this false allegation I would have given the home 4 stars. Besides the towel situation it is a nice home, but clearly a rental. Small things need fixed around the home however when staying for just a week you can overlook the upkeep issues. There are a lot of amenities and the tennis court is great for younger kids.
This isn’t a vacation house like so many that we’ve rented before. It’s as if someone opened their home for you to use. You barely need to bring anything with you because it’s all there. Let’s just start with the kids toys. There is a playroom filled with toys and art supplies for kids of all ages. Our 3 year old twin boys and their friends were in heaven. Step outside and there’s even more toys, scooters, beach toys, kayaks, a play set, etc ... The kids had a blast. This concept of everything that you need being there extends to all other facets of the house.
North Lake is a nice sized all sports lake. There wasn’t much boat traffic which allowed for glassy waterskiing. The public boat dock is very close to the house. There were three swans that appeared to live in front of the house and we saw a ton of smaller fish. The kids loved fishing off the dock and of course there was fishing rods and tackle. It’s these little things that you don’t think about that make such a difference. I would have never thought about how nice it is to have a nice beach on level to the house. Many other houses on the lake don’t have this feature.
We picked this area because it’s situated between two of the best mountain biking trail systems in the state. Pinckney (Potawatomi Trail) and the DTE trail. Both of these trails are incredibly close. Also, you should have dinner at the Common Grille in Chelsea.
There’s a private tennis court in between the house and the lake. Amazing!
The house is older and many things need to be repaired. It appears that owners are updating it though because the master was nicer than anticipated. It has the feel of a lake cottage as opposed to a modern built home. We talked a lot about this and the property and amenities far outweigh any need for updates.
