I could not have been happier about the experience staying at Dan and Sharon’s beautiful home. Not only did they provide everything you would need to stay for a longer period of time, including ample supply of toilet paper, they responded to my questions and requests promptly and addressed issues quickly. They are the nicest and kindest VRBO hosts I have ever had. They also hired a house cleaning lady who came to clean the entire apartment very Friday, which had been greatly helpful to our stay. The doormen and super were all very friendly and helpful too. An added benefit is that there is a beautiful shaded playground right at the street corner, which was extremely convenient for my family. This has been a great experience. I am very grateful for Dan and Sharon’s accommodation and kindness.
Dan and Sharon were great hosts and flexible to my needs.
The place is a great location for the subway and restaurants and grocery markets. it was quiet and the spacious for my needs. This is a great place to stay if your looking to relax in New York.

About the host
Hosted by Sharon wolbert
We are a semi retired couple, an architect and a clinical psychologist, who did our graduate training, met and married in New York City. After years of raising our children in the suburbs, we searched for 3 years to find our perfect apartment for this next chapter of our life. We then sold our house and moved back to NYC. We wanted a light-filled apartment, with enough space, a big kitchen, and views, in a safe doorman building, near public transportation in a community neighborhood- oh and did I mention we wanted an elevator? We have loved living here: enjoying the variety of the art, theatre, music, restaurants and dance here in the city. And being able to get to the airport using public transportation is wonderful, as we love to travel. For those of you interested, we also rent another property in the INESCO town of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico during spring and fall months (VRBO #699775).
Why they chose this property
This is a wonderful apartment in a Art Deco pre-war building well constructed with sound insulation between units, and high ceilings, There are two little parks nearby, ( not to mention our proximity to Central Park) and a walkway and bikeway along the river. Our building doormen who man the door until 11 pm every night, are friendly, helpful and maintain security. There are only 4 apartment per floor so it does not feel institutional, and the building has 2 elevators. Two hospitals are nearby as is advanced medical care. Our trustworthy maid, Maria, has cleaned this apartment for over 15 years, and will wash your personal laundry and change your bedding and towels weekly, as well as cleaning the apartment each week.
What makes this property unique
Why this apartment? As they say in real estate: Location, Location, Location !! We are no more than one block from 2 subway lines, 3 bus lines, and local restaurants and 1/2 a block from pharmacies, banks, grocery stores, convenience stores, cleaners, in short anything you are likely to need! and we are 4 blocks away from Central Park and famous Museum Mile.
