About the host
Hosted by Andy Cline
We have been summer residents of this area since the 1960's and 70's and retired here year round in 2010.
Why they chose this property
This cottage was originally built in the 1950's as an extension to the main house, which sits nearby, providing much needed extra bedrooms. In 1998 we renovated and added onto the cottage, turning a small bedroom into a laundry and pantry area and creating a hallway which leads to the generous family living addition with kitchen/dining/living area. The house now has a deck overlooking the backyard duck pond and its own private driveway and entrance off Shore Road.
What makes this property unique
This cozy cottage is located on the quiet, but very scenic Shore Road. Walk out the driveway and turn left for a spectacular 2 mile walk 'around the block.' The walk will take you through 2 working boatyards, past the town dock and ferries to the outer islands, bus stops for the free seasonal island bus service, and two boat rental businesses, all while enjoying spectacular views of the Great Harbor of Mount Desert, Somes Sound, and the mountains of Acadia.
