A rustic yurt, nestled back in the woods on the outskirts of town. It is named after a beloved dog, Porter. Access to electricity and a mini fridge. Test out your rustic living abilities with this cute little spot. Running water is not available but showers are available at the harbor and campgrounds in downtown Seward, several miles away. The bathroom is a very rustic outhouse with a curtain. It has electric a space heater, and a fan and stays nice and cozy during the cooler nights. You have access to a fire pit (when there is no burn ban in effect, and please use responsibly) and picnic table. The yurt is on the same property as my house, so expect some children’s toys in the yard, a friendly border collie, and a friendly six year old around the property. This is cozy and comfortable for anyone looking for something affordable.

The host was amazing, she was sweet and very communicative. Her dog Ducky was super sweet too, we also enjoyed him when he gave us a short visit. The yurt was cute and comfortable. It had a hot plate inside with a pot and pan if we wanted to cook. We utilized the fire pit for our meals and enjoyed our short trip there. It’s a beautiful property, there are trees and birds singing all around. It was a perfect little escape! We will definitely be back if we find ourselves in Seward again!
I am a busy mom who also owns and operates a small scenic rafting company in Cooper Landing.
Why they chose this property
It's shaded and has been a safe place to raise my little family.
What makes this property unique
I love living in this neighborhood. There are a bunch of amazing rentals in town, but I think the location helps you escape a bit of the hustle and bustle of downtown, but most things in town are within a 5 minute drive.
