Unfortunate stay
My husband and I rented Claudia’s property for an 11 night stay to be with our daughter and son-in-law when they welcomed the arrival of their first child. Upon entry, the apartment appeared and smelled to be clean (cupboards, refrigerator, bathroom, floors and linens). Unfortunately we had to end our stay early due to cockroach infestation. Initially, Claudia was willing to refund us for the unused days/nights at the apartment. I explained that we lost a whole day packing up and moving our belongings to a hotel and spent a considerable amount of time moving furniture, picking up rugs, researching and buying roach products, along with the constant fear of our belongings becoming infested and bringing cockroaches to my daughter and son-in-laws apartment with their newborn, as well as to our home. I requested that she refund 2 days of the days we were there, due to the inconvenience, which she agreed to after lengthy conversations. Claudia’s representative was very apologetic, easy to communicate with, reached out to me and aware that they have had problems with cockroaches in the past. In the end, while the price of the apartment is reasonable and surface clean, please be aware that cockroaches may be an issue in an older apartment housing building and fumigation does not allow for occupants to stay in the apartment while it is being done. I was also refunded for the unused parking space which was convenient to have. I gave an overall rating of “poor” for this property because of the inconvenience of having to deal with the cockroach infestation. Had it not been for that, it would have been a comfortable and pleasant stay.
