Fun Family week on Clam Lake and surrounding lakes!!

We had a great week on Clam Lake with family. The weather was hot, the A/C was great to have!! The only issue we had was with 7 people, if there was rain, we did not have a place to eat as the table with benches shown in the pictures was not in the cottage. Fortunately we had beautiful weather and a table cloth to eat outside. Will definitely be back up in the area again.

Week stay at Clam

House was clean and neat. Musty and damp smell to basement. Kitchen window had crack in it, stairs to basement had steps separating with exposed nails. Large enough to drop a phone or tablet in it. Child size kitchen chairs at homemade island need to be replaced. Outside lights bulbs burned out upper level. No lights at lower outside level. Upper deck and steps need repainting as peeling paint. Tree by upper deck needs to be trimmed back. No chairs on upper deck, folding chair down by dock. The upper deck would have been great to sit out on but no chairs. 3rd bedroom in basement is actually furnace room which is in the closet. Nice piece of property and view. Downhill walk to dock is steep but very peaceful setting…. Needs some work.

Enjoyable stay

We have stayed at several different cottages on clam lake throughout the past 20+ years and this place was very nice. I think this house is a new rental so there’s a few small features that need to be ironed out but overall we had a great experience. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: - Private dock with convenient set up for docking boat and fishing - Outdoor entertaining areas from both top and bottom levels of house - Efficient sleeping set up with two twin bunks in one room and two couches that pull out on living room Cons - Deck built around fire pit near water is nice but the deck needs to be completed/modified as it’s a safety hazard. There’s a 3-4ft drop off around the deck and is poorly lit at night. Someone (especially a child) could easily fall off and get injured. With an added barrier/extended deck and better lighting it would be perfect. - Water is a little walk from house. Not bad but it’s on a steep slope so could be difficult for elderly. - Some beds are squeaky We also had an issue with our shower leaking but management was quick to respond and fix.
