Great place to stay. Plenty of space and beds. Close to the Clam Lake boat launch with a nice dock to leave a boat. Easy access to Torch Lake. House was clean and the host was very responsive. Would definitely stay here again.
Had a great time with the Family. The house was clean and ready to spend a weekend in. Plenty of beds and plenty of space in the open layout for decent size family gatherings. One room had bunk beds which were nice for kids with a little play closet with a net to climb on and foot/hand holds on the wall for climbing. Nice view of Clam Lake and enjoyed fires by the lake. The 2 showers were nice which made it easy for everyone to get ready in the morning. Over all worth the money for the stay and would stay again.

Our stay had both positives and significant challenges. The home itself is attractive with beautiful views and in a good location, but unfortunately our first night was extremely uncomfortable because the AC was not working during a period of excessive heat. Sleeping without AC made the home difficult to enjoy. When we notified the host (Upon arrival) that the AC wasn't working, they were able to arrange for an HVAC technician to come the following day, but the earliest available appointment was after 4:00 pm. Since we would have been without AC until then and we had 4 kids during excessive heat, my husband and his HVAC friend ultimately spent about three hours diagnosing and repairing the system so we could comfortably continue our vacation. Adding to the heat there are no blinds on the windows, having blinds would have helped keep the heat as well as morning light out. Upon arrival we also had to clean the front porch it was littered with pine needles after the storm and didn't leave a good first impression. While the BBQ was nice there were no BBQ tools that we could find. The lake was nice but really not swimmable in my opinion we made the best of it though. I also recommend contacting the host via text as they suggest, because messaging them through VRBO resulted in delayed responses. To their credit they did ultimately reimburse us for the one night's stay which was appreciated. That effort to make things right factored into this review.
Overall, we had a really good stay and enjoyed our time here. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out, and the kids absolutely loved the large back room. The only downside was that it stayed noticeably warmer than the rest of the house. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils, and we made good use of the grill. One suggestion would be to add Adirondack chairs around the yard fire pit. We’d also recommend treating the backyard for the many anthills, as there were quite a few.For families, it would be great if the house included a small selection of board games and books. We knew ahead of time there weren’t any and brought our own, but those little touches make a big difference at a lake house, especially on rainy days or evenings when everyone wants to stay in.The location worked well for us. It was an easy drive to rent a pontoon for the day on Torch Lake, and we enjoyed fishing off the dock. The dock felt a little shaky with more than three people on it, but it was still nice to have. And we had some great catches! If the owners ever decide to include a pontoon or even a couple of kayaks, that would be a huge bonus. The grocery store, coffee shop, and restaurants are all conveniently nearby, and there are some really cute shops around the Torch Lake area as well.Overall, we’d definitely recommend this property.
