About this property

Cassidy Homestead Guest Cabin

Welcome to this quaint rustic locally owned and operated cabin located in the small hamlet of southern Hall. The cabin sleeps 6 comfortably, and was built by homesteader Carl Cassidy in the early 80's. His skillful primitive aesthetic and use of recycled materials gives the cabin a feeling it was built in the 1880's. The cabin has recently been remodeled from basement to roof: new electrical, plumbing, flooring, kitchen, bathroom, and appliances. A spacious 280sqft covered porch was added onto the back of the cabin.

The Cabin sits on what remains of the original Cassidy homestead along with the main house and several outbuildings all constructed by Carl. Flint Creek, one of Montana's blue ribbon trout creeks, is located 50yrds from the property. Just across Hwy 1, is the township of Maxville. The charming turn-of-the-century town of Philipsburg is a short 11min drive. Discovery Ski Area and Georgetown Lake is just 35min away.

The cabin has two stories; main living down and one large single bedroom and bath up. The main living area is open concept consisting of a living room (with a double bed futon couch), stone fireplace (firewood included), dining area, Smart TV, WiFi, and a fully functional kitchen.

The kitchen is well stocked with an assembly of cooking needs including a microwave and coffee maker. The back door leads out to the new covered porch that overlooks the homesteads old apple orchard. You will find a new gas barbecue, a large picnic table perfect for family gatherings, and a couple of Adirondack chairs for relaxing and taking in the scenery of the property and the surrounding mountains. A rock built fire pit sits out front of the cabin for those nightly gatherings of roasting marshmallows and making s’mores.

Upstairs is a large single bedroom with twin bunks, a double bed, and completely remodeled bathroom with tiled shower. A private balcony is accessible off the bedroom. If there's a need for another guest past 6, a sleeping cot is available at an additional $25 a night.

The cabin has its own private drive and is surrounded by a new gated post and pole fence. The area is perfect to let your dog out for a quick break if you decide to bring them along ;) The property is dog friendly and a small fee of $25 per dog is required if you decide to bring your four legged friend(s). Payment is due upon arrival: cash or check.
