About this property

Our Little Cabin, Life As It Should Be

Winter is a fickle season at Our Little Cabin. Brilliant blue skies, but subzero temperatures, 15” of snow in a day or no snow for days, or 45 balmy degrees and mud. For this reason, we greatly limit access to the cabin during these unpredictable months. The cabin is generally not available November -through January. There may be limited availability in Feb- March. We see what April brings. Because of the unpredictability of the weather and the challenges winter may bring, I turn off instant booking and instead ask that if you think you’re interested, you contact us with an inquiry. We consider each request on a case-by-case basis, dependent upon weather, cabin accessibility, and individuals pioneering spirit and winter experience.

SPRING, SUMMER & FALL !
....so quiet you can hear birds sing, deer snort and if you want, yourself think! The cabin is located in a meadow/wooded rural setting approximately 8 miles from Philipsburg. The kitchen is well equipped & there is a BBQ. The cupola allows for stargazing from bed, a 1890's wood stove provides warmth and ambiance. Whether fishing, hiking, panning for sapphires or reading a good book, this rustic, cozy, clean 1 room cabin is comfortably furnished for a relaxing stay
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

About the host

Hosted by Maribeth & Kent Ellis

Host profile image
Kent and I bought this property almost 20 years ago. We knew that some day we would make this beautiful spot our full time home. 8 years ago, we made the move. For me it was coming home- I was born/raised in Columbia Falls. Kent family also had homesteading roots in Montana, though he is a Colorado native. We have short beautiful summers when we do our best to soak in all the activities and events in we can. We love rodeos (watching!) kayaking, hiking, fishing, our dogs and working around the property. Fall is likely our favorite season, warm days and snappy evenings!
Winter - a fact of life here and it is long, so best to embrace it! We dust off the snowshoes, Altai Hoks ( cross between snowshoes and XC skis) downhill skis and the snow blower! The cabin is generally not available during winter months.

Why they chose this property

Because your looking to step away from noise and hustle. Your comfortable with rustic , clean and cozy spaces. Cabin is located in a meadow on the edge of a forest.
