Cozy chalet w/ hot tub & fire pit

Leave the car keys on the dresser. Everything you need is right here or just outside the doorstep. This newly renovated, spacious 5 bedroom chalet is perfectly located, only a 6 minute walk across the road from Stratton Village and the base lodge and lifts. Close enough to everything for top convenience and far enough for privacy and relaxation. If walking isn't your thing, no problem - during the winter season the house is serviced by the Black Bear shuttle which runs every 15 minutes dropping you off at the base lodge.

This special house offers amenities at every level. Guests are greeted on the first floor by practical mud room take care of all your items as you enter the house. Taking center stage in the light filled great room is a large stone wood burning fireplace and it serves as an anchor to the open floor plan. The space flows to an adjacent open kitchen and dining area with seating for 12 and additional small table for games, breakfast or more family members. The layout suits socialization in whatever form – après ski with tales of the day's adventures, group cooking, family style dining, and separate kids space. Continue through to the back door and enjoy a large covered deck which acts as an outdoor room sun, rain, or snow. This space is terrific for morning meditation, yoga , or morning coffee as the sun rises with a beautiful view of the Green Mountains. The upper level also contains two bedrooms; A King bedroom and a Queen bedroom that share a bath. French doors for extra quiet and privacy. There's an additional half bathroom off the hallway servicing the Great Room and deck.

Head downstairs to find the Movie Room which is often the kids hang out with games and an abundance of seating. After a full day on the slopes you might also enjoy the sauna and outdoor covered hot tub. And for the outdoor enthusiasts who didn't get enough fresh air on the mountain, the backyard fire-pit beckons always stocked with cords of fresh hardwood. This level contains three more bedrooms, one with 4 bunks, the other with twin beds and the third with a Queen bedroom. There are two full bathrooms and a laundry room for your use.

Awesome Chalet @ Stratton

This property is absolutely perfect for a large group staying at Stratton. Plenty of bedrooms / beds / baths, open space around the kitchen and living room areas, plenty of parking and more. Fireplace is great. Hot tub and sauna come in clutch. Location is ideal. Owner communicates great. We were a group of 9 friends up for a quick ski trip. Would definitely book it again.

Beautiful home with all the amenities!

This a a beautiful and big home. We were 8 adults, 2 children and one child under 1. We had plenty of room. Linens and towels were great quality. The place was very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this home. It was also very close to Stratton ski. There is a shuttle bus right in front of this home to get to ski area. Communication with the owner was prompt and friendly.

We had a great long weekend here. The house is beautiful and clean. The yoga deck, and fire pit were well used. It’s relaxing the minute you walk in. And the location is great, easily walkable to the village!

Great ski house!

The property is just as nice as it looks. The owners did a really great job renovating it, and it has every comfort and convenience you could want. We enjoyed the sauna in particular, and the well-equipped kitchen (particularly the fact that there are THREE coffee makers!). The walk to the slopes was slightly more taxing than I thought it would, as a bit of the walk is uphill, but nonetheless perfectly easy to walk to and from skiing. The owner was extremely responsive when I had a hard time getting into the property upon arrival (totally my own fault, not his), but we solved the issue within minutes. I'd definitely stay there again!

Lovely in Every Way!

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. The house was beautiful, the distance from the mountain perfect, and the overall experience delightful. The manager, Reggie, checked on us and made the stay very pleasant. We will certainly stay here again when we return! We had a group of 8 consisting of family ages 11-57 and everyone had a memorable stay.

We... a group of friends, coworkers and family members are an active group who have always appreciated nature’s playground - a mountain to ski down, a mountain to hike up or a mountain road to pedal up and over. The beauty of the Vermont country side in and around Stratton was familiar to one of our group from earlier days and proved to be a great location to come together and play out a vision of a vacation house; a place where we can all get together to enjoy vacationing with family and large groups of friends - no one gets left out. And we’re excited to make that same opportunity available to our guests. Our own experiences and those we provide through other units at Rising Bear lodge are marked by a top quality offering of comfort, cleanliness, amenities and responsiveness to accommodate our guests’ needs.

Why they chose this property

We love Vermont and Stratton offers so much, all within a relative short drive for ourselves and other friends and family members in NJ- NY- LI -CT and the Boston area. A great place for so many activities – Ski, Bike, Hike, Golf, Tennis, Yoga, Fishing... or just relax and take in the sounds and scenes of nature with family and friends.
When the opportunity to purchase a property in the perfect location, with such potential came along, we jumped at the chance. The house underwent a significant renovation and upgrade in 2019 resulting in space, light and views and added amenities that now makes Chalet O’ Bear a vacation house for all seasons.
Located at 23 Middle Ridge Road, it’s just a few minutes’ walk to Stratton Village and the Base lodge and lifts. For us, it was particularly attractive to be so close (literally across the road) from Rising Bear lodge. Together with 3 other condo units there, we can now offer lodging logistics for a group of 30+ people with the variety of condominium convenience and private lodge seclusion and independence

What makes this property unique

With this house, we wanted to create a generous and welcoming great room featuring the wood burning stone fireplace as the centerpiece. We built a beautiful outdoor deck where one can watch the sunrise over the mountains, meditate or enjoy yoga in a beautiful setting. And with a sauna, hot-tub and backyard fire-pit, there’s all manner in which to ensure you give yourself the feeling of a well-deserved vacation. Oh, did we mention the fantastic and convenient, location?
