Walnut Lane House - Private Mountain views

Thank you for considering our house for a relaxing country stay. This house was purchased and furnished to be a vacation rental, from the coffee maker to the outdoor pool with a view. Luray has been our home, our escape, and our happy place for some time and we are excited to be able to share this town with you and your family. The house is large with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, beautiful views, and an above-ground pool.


The pool is currently open through Labor Day, and is four feet deep.

We are conveniently located near Lake Arrowhead, Luray Caverns, and Shenandoah National Park.

This is an extremely convenient, clean, beautiful property. We always enjoy the pool, the beautiful view and the proximity to the town of Luray, Lake Arrowhead and Shenandoah NP. We have stayed here five or six times and can't wait for our next trip.

This house never disappoints. We have stayed here five or six times over the past few years and always enjoy our stay. The pool is a big hit and we also love the proximity to Lake Arrowhead, Shenandoah NP and Luray. It always is clean and has everything we need. The host is extremely responsive and helpful. Fantastic start with a stunning view. Located conveniently 5 minutes away from the Thornton gap entrance of the national park, it’s a must stay if planning a visit to Shenandoah. Owners were responsive and helpful. Very generous as well leaving us plenty of towels for the pool as well as basic household items and bagged ice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here

Communication was excellent with the host. Very quick to respond and so very helpful and friendly! Very spacious home. Nice peaceful areas to relax. Pool was sparkling clean and our family really enjoyed it. Really nice chairs,umbrella and beach towels provided at the home. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of movies to watch and lots of games as well. Those were such nice features. Would definitely recommend staying here. In the country but close to store and places to eat out. Loved the landscape with the flowers out front and around the pool. So pretty. Would stay here again.

The house was exactly as described. We choose to prepare our meals instead of eating out and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. It was quite spacious and allowed our family to relax when not out exploring Shenendoah NP. It was very close to both the park entrance and to Luray. I would certianly consider booking another stay if we decide to revisit the area.

Tranquil spot with a great view!

We loved the view of the mountains from the backyard and pool area. The pool was super clean and very refreshing during our stay. We loved how convenient it was to Shenandoah national Park as well as the town of Luray. Can’t wait to come back.

Great Location!

I was in the area for an event at the Arrowhead Recreation area. This spot was perfect and only a few minutes away. Shenandoah is also very close. We had a great time and the place is very clean and cozy.

Comfortable house with a great backyard. Location is close enough to everything in the area, and the listing/pictures are accurate to what you'll be getting. Just a heads up that cell phone reception might not be great for internet access, but the house has good Wi-Fi.

Beautiful surroundings

This was our second time staying here. It’s perfect for our family. We enjoy meeting once a year here and it makes it easy to eat home versus having to eat out at every meal. The pool is a definite plus for the younger grandchildren (everyone honestly).

Hi, I'm Dwight and I own Walnut lane. This vacation house is a small business that I run with my daughter Dana and her husband Brad. We only exist because our wonderful guest choose to stay at the house. We are honored to host your vacation and will go out of the way to make sure you have everything you want or need during your stay.

Why they chose this property

This property was purchased and fixed up to be a place for our family to come together and all be under 1 roof. We have a large family that likes to spend time together and others that needed a place to lay their head when they came in town. After years of enjoying the house and getting it just right we felt it was time to open the doors and allow others to enjoy. The wide open spaces, private pool and peace and quiet seemed like something people needed right now. With acres of land and a foot print of over 2200 sq ft it was important to us that the house not become a retreat center but a family escape so that is how it was furnished and priced. Walnut lane means a lot to our family and we are sure that once you stay it will have a piece of your heart as well.
