About this property
Trastevere House Rome
IMPORTANT: Upon check-in, you will be asked to pay 50 euros for the final cleaning service and the city tax (which is mandatory in Rome. It is 6.00 per person per day)
Trastevere House is a beautiful apartment located on Vicolo del Cedro, just a few steps from Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, in the heart of Rome’s Rugantino area—a magical atmosphere that captivates the heart.
Trastevere House is located in a medieval palace in the heart of the Trastevere district, 200 metres from the Romanesque church of Santa Maria and 500 metres from Piazza Campo dei Fiori. The apartment offers all modern amenities, including free Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning, and a fully equipped loft-style kitchen area.
With a Nespresso coffee machine, the apartment is elegant; the hardwood floors make it warm and cosy. The bathroom features a luxurious marble shower and double sinks, the living room has a beautiful bookshelf that spans the entire wall, and the sofa bed is very comfortable. The charm of the historic building has been preserved, thanks to the restoration of the 18th-century chestnut wood ceiling.
Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, just a few steps away, has become a hub for the nightlife of Romans and tourists alike, as well as a meeting place for people of all ages and nationalities. Trastevere offers endless entertainment options: from the chance, in the summer, to relax under the stars with a cool drink and a guitar, to the idea of dinner at a popular restaurant or a historic pizzeria, to the delightful shopping opportunities in small shops!
It’s an excellent starting point, whether on foot or by bus, for reaching all the places of interest for those who want to explore Rome’s beautiful monuments.
From the Fiumicino and Ciampino airports, I recommend the “private taxi service” for about 60 euros each way; a driver will be waiting for you at the exit and will take you directly to the apartment—COMFORTABLE, FAST, and CHEAP.
Alternatively, from Fiumicino Airport, you can take the train towards “Stazione Termini” (8 euros per person), get off at Trastevere Station, and then take a taxi to the apartment. From Ciampino Airport, you can take a shuttle bus towards Rome Centre (8 euros per person) and then a taxi to the apartment. From Termini Station, it’s best to take a taxi to the apartment (about 15 euros).

Excellent communication from host. The photos accurately show the space which is very stylish and has lots of storage. The exterior is nothing special but the apt is within walking distance of all of Trastevere. We walked or took public transportation most everywhere, but taxis were easy to find. We enjoyed our stay and recommend enthusiastically.
Location is right in Trastevere, 2 min from restaurant, 5 min to the church, but in a quiet area with no noise to be heard… Beautiful house, nice location!.. the Kitchen is a good option for a quick breakfast .. Overall beautiful home… The communication is great, We were lost by taking the wrong bus, but the host was right there, quick to answer and sending the information to locate the proper bus and building.. his son was also in time awaiting for us to open the house.. Nice place, nice hosts
Cute little spot tucked away in Trastevere. Perfect for 1 person or a couple staying in Rome for a few days. Host was helpful and easy to communicate with.
Wonderful little property in a characterful district!
Elisabetta and her son are so lovely, and made our check in so easy. The apartment is full of character and is perfectly located in the Trastevere area. It’s a lovely and lively district, especially at night but the apartment is on a nice quiet street!! Would definitely stay again :)
We had an adventurous three day weekend in Rome. The apartment was perfectly located to the vibrant part of Trastevere but is situated on what seems to be the only quiet street in the neighborhood. It was an easy walk to the historic city center too.
We loved making this cute spot our Trastevere HQ for a jam-packed week of Rome sightseeing. Elisabetta and Lorenzo were very friendly and helpful whenever we needed them (though I forgot to ask them for specifics on finding the right room before we arrived in Italy and couldn’t get my phone working near the apartment, so make sure to do that), and the neighborhood was extremely convenient and cute. Kitchen/bathroom/bedroom had everything we needed. Would love to stay here again our next time in Rome!
Absolutely beautiful apartment ,great location the place was very clean and communication with our host was fabulous . Walking distance to wonderful restaurants if you’re able, you can actually walk to the Vatican, the Colosseum and the Trevi fountain all about a 15 minute walk from the apartment and the is that you get to see architecture highly recommend this apartment. We loved our stay there.
We had a lovely stay here. Elisabetta was easy to work with and very accessible for questions. I had an early morning flight at 6am and she helped coordinate a reliable taxi to the airport. The WiFi was consistent and strong as we worked remotely for part of our trip. The location could not have been better- an easy walk to restaurants in the Trastevere neighborhood or to cross the river.
It is as beautiful as it looks in the photos! We all know photos can be misleading sometimes, but this apartment was fantastic! The location is also great for dinner in the evening, lots of great restaurants and places for drinks. We didn’t use the kitchen, but the little raised kitchen is so cute. Bed was comfortable, it was better than the average from the many places we have stayed this trip
Wonderful location in quiet Trastevere neighborhood! Just 2 minutes walk to several local restaurants and within walking distance to all the major sites. No elevator, but only one straight, short flight of stairs. Air conditioning worked great. There's no clothes washer and the kitchen being tiny and up on a platform would not make it good for a long stay, but for our the days it was perfect!

Excellent location
Neighborhood was better than it appeared because of the graffiti. The space of the property was good for accommodating the three of us. The kitchen is not user friendly because the stair case makes it difficult to open the fridge and is not well stocked. The bathroom needs some attention.
This was such a great location for our stay in Rome, it is in a much more quieter part of Trastevere as well which was a big win to be able to get away from the crowded areas. The apartment is in a good location for seeing all the popular sites (depending how much walking you like to do) we walked everywhere from the apartment and our furthest walk was to the Trevi fountain & Spanish steps which took us about 40 minutes. There is also public transit about 10minutes away. Elisabetta is a great host and was always available if we needed anything. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Beautiful flat in a quiet area of a bustling neighbourhood. Restful oasis for exploring all of Rome and Trastevere. A bonus if you are a gluten free traveller as there are several fully GF restaurants nearby. Also a Rome water fountain is just steps away, making a nice treat for water bottles. The flat is clean and spacious with a beautiful wardrobe closet to keep your clothes and purchases in while there. Comfortable bed and charming decor. Will return as it truly felt like home. Elisabetta was a delight to work with. Walkable to the Vatican and many sites of interest. We did not use public transport, just walked everywhere and it felt lovely to be central but in an Italian artsy neighbourhood.
My spouse and I stayed 4 nights and we enjoyed the location and the quiet it offered with little birds who came to sing at our bedroom window.Located in a perfect location to walk to all the historical sites. We had fun exploring the restaurants in Trastavere all near the accommodation. The unit was very clean and very comfortable. The check in was not done with the owner but with a family member. So we could have been shown in more details where to find certain kitchen items or how European appliances worked. It was a learning experience for us to ask more questions during our check in process. We would definitely stay there again.
Really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great - when you first drive up you may think it's not, but about a 2 minute walk gets you right into the heart of Trastevere, where you have all the best food in Rome and as much nightlife as you want. However, if you don't want the nightlife, the street the room is on remains quiet. The room was clean, keep in mind the building is old, but it is well done. The kitchen is hard to access, but you can see that in the pictures. Overall very spacious and had what we needed. The hosts were nice and responsive. A.self check in option would be nice for more flexibility, but they were very accommodating to our arrival time.
This was our second stay in Rome in as many weeks, and this Trastevere apartment did not disappoint. Trastevere is an incredible neighborhood, full of life, amazing food, and even a local bar that has quickly become my favorite. The apartment is just one block away from all the excitement, so while you're close to the action, it's quiet and peaceful when you need a break from the crowds.
The property itself is beautifully maintained—clean, inviting, and just as warm as the pictures portray. The property owner and her son went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and their hospitality truly made a difference in our stay. All in all, this is a wonderful property, and without a doubt, we’ll be returning whenever we're in the area.
(bonus points for the wifi - it was high speed and faster than I was expecting.)
