Hot Tub 2 BR Cabin in the woods New River Gorge (Cabin 2 Opossum Creek Retreat)

Cabin 2 is absolutely beautiful. Why? It’s just like cabin 1 (they were built at the same time, using the same plan I created). We chose the location for this cabin for three reasons: privacy, seclusion, and solitude. Because a mountain vacation is about getting away. Cabin 2 is nestled up snug in the woods. This place is just for you and yours. Enjoy!
Comfort To Spare

There are great amenities, like the hot tub, gas fireplace, and the gas grill. Cabin 2 has 2 bedrooms with a queen bed in each. And there’s the living area, and the porch, and the 19 acres of woods that surround it. There’s plenty of room to spread out or hole up.

This Cabin starts at the prices listed in the availability calendar at the upper right hand corner of this page based on availability. Prices include up to 4 adults. Children 12 and under are free (1 per paying adult). We do have a three night minimum from Memorial day through Bridge day. Sometimes other reservations leave one and two night holes. Please check with us for availability.

We had a wonderful stay at Cabin 2! Loved the hot tub and the location was perfect to do all things in the New River Gorge area, but in a quiet peaceful location after being out and about during the day!! We also loved seeing all the deer travel in and around the cabin each day!

One of the best places we’ve stayed at.

My cousin and I go to at least one national park a year and this was definitely one of the best places we stayed at. We had homemade cookies, a free glass from the retreat as a sovienor and free firewood the place was clean and it was quiet around us. As two women in the woods we felt extremely safe.

Nice cabin. Small but had everything we needed. Easy to check in and out. Super clean in a peaceful setting yet close to all the attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

Cabin in the woods

Nice cabin, clean and had all the amenities needed. Screened in porch was excellent and made relaxing in hot tub a bug free experience. Had a great short vacation, the surrounding area is beautiful, lots of things to see and do! Whitewater rafting, Thurmond and lots of great views.

Good little cabin

Everything was great. Clean place. Not as secluded as I would have preferred since the neighboring cabin was pretty close. Only complaint was there were no handles on the kitchen cabinets which was a little annoying.

Sweet lil Cabin!

My grandson and I loved this cabin. Very nice and clean!! The hot tub was awesome, it's very spacious and ALL the features on the hot tub actually worked!! My grandson loved the waterfall and the changing lights. We plan on doing this again soon. My only minor complaint would be the stove, there are no temperatures on the oven dial or for the burners. It kept me from baking cookies,but we had plenty of fun anyway!

Upper Gauley Weekend at Cabin 2

The property was incredibly clean and well maintained. The check-in process was very easy and Geoff and Anna were very communicative during the process. We would absolutely stay here again.

It was nice to have a roof and a nice place to stay. We especially enjoyed the porch that gave us a lot of room to organize and sort our gear in the evening.
