About this property

AMAZING! LAKESHORE HOME w/DOCK; Sleeps 7

We call our little piece of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom La Frontière, which means “The Border” in English, because the house sits just a few hundred yards south of the border with the Canadian province of Québec on Lake Memphremagog.

The property has a long history of recreational use, enjoyed by visitors and their friends and families for many decades. We’ve recently completed extensive renovations on the house, and now we’re so happy to be able to share it with guests like you.

1 well-behaved pet is welcome WITH PRIOR APPROVAL. If bringing a pet please also bring sheets/blankets to protect furniture. A second pet is negotiable and may incur an additional charge. Please message us before booking to discuss our pet policies.

We have a hilly driveway so DURING WINTER MONTHS A SNOW/ICE WORTHY VEHICLE IS A MUST. We provide shovels and salt for your use during your stay to maintain walkways. The driveway is plowed and sanded as needed. A vehicle that is good in snow/ice is mandatory during winter months.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Winter wonderland

Relaxing getaway on the lake. Able to easily ice fish, snowshoe or sit inside to watch the lake and read. Hope to go back and enjoy in the summer.

Another great trip on the lake

This was a return visit for me and the experience delivered again! The home is a fantastic lake property with great water access and the living room with the fireplace and waterview is amazing. We will certainly be coming back again.

Great property!

We rented this house for a week in August and thoroughly enjoyed it! The house was just as advertised, clean and comfortable. The property was great! Plenty of lake frontage to dock a boat and a separate area for swimming. Good communication with the owner, who was very helpful. Just a really nice, peaceful place to spend our vacation!

A beautiful property on a peaceful lake. Very well thought out by owners with many small additional amenities that made the stay even better. Comfortable beds and furniture. All nicely laid out. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and cookware. A great place to relax after a day of skiing.

Second time around!

Rented this house for the second year in a row and it didn't disappoint! House is clean and modern, and the location is exceptional! Lots of lake frontage for swimming and fishing and plenty of lawn for games and relaxing. Easy drive into town with plenty of stores and restaurants. Communication with owner was great as always. Looking forward to returning!!

Peaceful and serene area

Loved it The lake is so pretty. The house was comfortable and clean. We were blessed to see the northern lights on 5/10. All those green and red lights shining off the lake were magical. Husband caught a few bass off of the point. Great time and perfect for our 44th anniversary. Would definitely come back!

Peacefully perfect

We absolutely loved this property and truly enjoyed our stay. The house was perfect for 2 teens and my husband and I. We loved looking out at the view of the lake everyday. Nice and quiet and peaceful. This is one of the best lake houses we have rented. Went fishing, lavender farm., night cruise on Northern Star, ate out at several of the restaurants in Newport. Took some day trips into Canada. One being in Magog. If you like wineries there are some not far in Canada.

Beautiful home

We rent a lot of vacation homes and this is one of the cleanest we’ve been to. The bed in the primary bedroom was super comfortable. Be aware that the road in is steep and you will need 4x4 in winter. The view and proximity to the lake is amazing. The kitchen had all the necessary items, but there is zero pantry items other than salt and pepper. The owner was super easy to communicate with. All in all a fabulous stay.

Winter Adventure

Our host was excellent, very responsive and his communication during the entire booking process was wonderful. Upon arriving at the house, everything was as promised and the home was very clean, well kept and ready for our arrival. Fishing trip

Stayed for 4 days of fishing. We loved the location, the appearance of the house and there was plenty of parking space for 2 trucks and 2 boats. All instructions were clearly communicated. House was clean and well stocked. All the necessary kitchen items are there. The lake is beautiful and if you are a fisher-person there are plenty of fish waiting to be caught. The ‘Queen and twin’ in the upstairs bedroom are bunk beds which was a bit of a surprise but we made due. Would definitely stay again.

Private piece of paradise

Beautiful home, with incredible views, a sandy little beach with boulders and beautiful foliage surrounding it, where you feel like you’re in your own little paradise. Fire pit overlooking the stunning lake, and covered porch where you can sit in all kinds of weather and enjoy the breathtaking views and relaxing sounds, and so much more! So many little areas to sit in around the house and cozy up with a book. Separate sitting area with lots of board games we enjoyed every night, and an air hockey table which our kids loved! The owners thought of everything and more, the comforts of home but the amenities of a hotel, all the little details were wonderful. It was exactly what our little family needed for the week, we were so sad to leave, and will definitely be back! Thank you so much for having us, your home is lovely, the grounds and area are magical!!!

Great place for a quiet, private retreat with family

First: the owners were super-responsive. The house was exactly as pictured: modern, clean, and comfortable. All the facilities were in great shape. The deck and the view are probably the greatest feature, though we also really enjoyed the basement TV room. I would say that we were probably older (late 60s/early 70s) than the house and property were designed for. You need sure footing to get down the bank to the shore. That said, my sister swam twice a day, which was the main purpose of our stay. The town of Newport Center has more than everything one would want -- groceries, farm stands, restaurants, and super stores like Walmart and Price Chopper. We even went to the movies one day, and drove into Quebec another. For families who like to boat and fish, the house is ideal. We didn't do either and still had a lovely time.

You never know what you are going to get with a short-term rental. In this case, the listing definitely undersells the property. It is clean, comfortable and peaceful. This is a great base to explore the northeast kingdom and the eastern townships or just enjoy Magog.

Perfect relaxing week on the water

Fabulous house right on the water. Clean property. Comfy beds. Awesome deck with beautiful views. Peaceful. Swimming right off the little beach. Nice kayak and paddle board spot. Would definitely rent again.
