Cold Spring Farm Milk House Apt.- Colgate, Hamilton College, SUNY Morrisville
Don’t miss The “Milk House “ apartment and your chance for a very unique stay in a part of a large retired dairy barn! My father ,Ron, created the apartment from the actual area that was once the milk house. The milk house of the barn is traditionally the area where the milk tank sits and also where the milking machines are cleaned and sanitized . The barn is located on a beautiful 16 acres with open fields, a small pond and trees behind it. The apartment Is a cozy escape away from the hustle and bustle yet close to Hamilton with stores , restaurants and Colgate Univ!! It’s perfect for 1- 3 persons ( there’s an oversized sofa available for the extra child /person ). It has modern amenities, including WiFi , an open floor plan with nice sized kitchen for meals at home. There’s one large bedroom with a comfortable queen sized bed with a gel mattress. It’s an easy, very scenic 12-15min drive from the quaint Village of Hamilton and Colgate University and a 30 min drive from the bustling town of Clinton, the home of Hamilton College. It’s also within 20-25 min of SUNY Morrisville. Cold Spring Farm was once a working dairy farm on 170 acres of farmland up until about 10 years ago . My Dad can never stay still and loved the views and rustic nature so he’s kept busy renovating the barn. The Milk House apartment area was once the center of activity housing the big milk holding tank , milking machines , and other equipment for milking the cows on the dairy farm. All that is gone now making way for a quaint 1 bedroom / 1 bath getaway in a rural peaceful setting. Star gaze the night sky and enjoy the rustic beauty! Get a chance to sleep in an actual barn ......but with all the amenities !!! See our other listings for more options at Cold Spring Farm for you and your friends and family !

About the host
Hosted by Roslynn Mason
I grew up in the area and graduated from Hamilton Highschool. I went south for college and worked for many years in Washington, DC and recently retired and now enjoy providing unique, modern and comfortable accommodations for guests and also for our large extended family that visit in the area. This is a work in progress and we’re always looking for ways to provide more value!
Why they chose this property
This was once a working dairy farm that my parents bought when I was a teenager . My parents both grew up on dairy farms in the area so we wanted to keep this in the family and have a nice place to stay when visiting our large family in the area and enjoying the relaxed Upstate NY way of life !
What makes this property unique
This versus a hotel room an hour away…let’s compare! Your stay here is unique and full of history. The original barn was built in the 1800’s and Cold Spring Stock Farm was established in 1911 as a Dairy farm. We have pictures of the old barn with original sign stating all this! You’ll stay in modern living spaces with nice amenities and wifi knowing that once it was a dairy farm housing cows and farm related things! Maybe you’ll even hear a moo or a rooster crowing! All this while experiencing the quiet Upstate NY countryside. You’ll still be close to the towns of Hubbardsville and Hamilton but enjoying the relaxed life and starry skies just 15 min drive Colgate U. campus!
