About this property
HISTORIC FARMHOUSE ON 400 ACRE RANCH
Come experience something unique and magical in our turn-of-the-century remodeled farm house. This rustic home is nestled within a 400 acre secluded ranch located just over the mountain from the City of San Luis Obispo.
Allow yourself to travel back in time while you enjoy this 2 bedroom 1 bath 1000 square foot home that comfortably sleeps 4 guests in its king and queen sized beds. The newly remodeled kitchen with its granite counter-tops and modern appliances is fully equipped to prepare delicious meals. The flagstone patio with its propane grill and wood-burning Santa Maria style bbq makes a wonderful setting for enjoying a traditional Central Coast home-cooked tri-tip steak with all the fixings. Guests can relax on the patio or wrap-around porch, sip local wines and beers while watching hawks and vultures circling overhead, deer grazing on the nearby hillsides and wild turkeys foraging in the adjacent fields. Savor the fresh country air and revel in the sound of silence.
Guests are invited to bring their hiking boots, binoculars and perhaps mountain bikes. The ranch is almost wholly surrounded by Cal Poly State University property with its extensive network of trails where one can literally explore for miles.
Whether you are visiting the Central Coast to sample its world-famous wines and restaurants, to explore its pristine coastline, or simply to relax and unwind, you'll be glad that you decided to make this rustic home your headquarters. It is truly a hidden jewel.
CAVEATS: The house is located at the end of a 1.5 dirt/gravel road, The road, while county maintained, is not well-suited for guests with low clearance vehicles. If you have such a vehicle, you'll need to drive slowly and carefully. The house was originally built in the 1890's and although it has been modernized and upgraded, it is not not well-suited for people with mobility disabilities. For example, the living room floor slopes and a prior elderly guest complained that this was disorienting for her.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We have stayed at the farm house now several times, and every time it is extremely comfortable, clean, quiet, and relaxing. We have two more trips planned for this year because we love it so much.
There are no words to describe this incredible place and the wonderful hosts. Previous reviews cover the details so I'll just say there is nowhere I'd rather be.
We had another wonderful trip to the farmhouse, saw turkeys and deer, baby owls, and lots of squirrels. The farmhouse is so comfortable, clean, and peaceful that it always makes for a great, relaxing stay. We love it and will be back again soon.
Great for dogs! House is comfortable and cozy. My husband and I stayed here with our two dogs. Trails on property are great for walking the dogs. Saw a lot of deer and squirrels around the yard. House is still very close to town and yet very private. Highly recommend if you are traveling with dogs.
This is our fourth time staying at the farmhouse and every time it is just wonderful. It is beautiful, peaceful, and really comfortable. We will be back.
We were visiting our son at Cal Poly and wanted to experience something different from our previous stays around town. This property is wonderful! It is peaceful and charming and allows you to really soak in just how special San Luis Obispo is. Highly recommend, especially if you enjoy viewing the local wildlife.
We had planned on doing full day trips around the coast and into the Paso Robles area, but the property was so amazing we ended up hiking and relaxing on site for most of the time. Host was wonderful and cabin is just as nice as pictured. Our dog Bruno loved it too. Would definitely stay again!
