Lovely place, amazing views over the estuary and Conway Castle, super kind host (who also ran the very tasty restaurant below the apartment). The kids loved watching the trains at the train stop outside the window, the forest on the other side of the estuary, and my husband the coastal path to the Parkrun about a mile away. Thanks so much for a lovely short break!
The accommodation is ideal, if like us you're after a cosy, comfortable base with stunning views across the estuary. The Host has created a homely, chilled style of holiday rental, and the little added extra's on offer in the kitchen mean that it's very easy to settle straight in.
Really good and homely stay in Deganwy. Just a short journey to both Llandudno and Conwy.Facilities are good in the property, just enough for a short stay.Cai was an excellent host, and we also took the opportunity to eat at his French restaurant located below.
We absolutely loved the apartment with its period furnishings as well as its incredible location! Cai was the quintessential host and we would definitely stay there again! Thanks
Beautiful rustic comfortable apartment. Has a fantastic view and in a brilliant location. The owner was extremely helpful with local information and tips for places to eat. The owner’s restaurant was sadly closed but would certainly book a table when we next stay.
Well, it must be good this is our fourth visit and we shall be going again in 2025.Cai, the host, is an always so welcoming and helpful, even helped carry ours out luggage from the car to the flat. Make sure you eat at the Paysanne restaurant below.
Great property fully equipped with everything you would need. Best location as has superb views of Conwy Castle, boats, bridge and water. Just beautiful and can never tire of it.
We had a wonderful time. The hosts are extremely welcoming, and everything about the place is excellent: the location, the spacious main room, the terrific French restaurant beneath the flat.
Roomy, comfortable apartment on 2 floors. The view was so engaging. Bedrooms are upstairs - quiet at night even with the restaurant on ground floor. (Make a reservation at Paysanne, the best meal in Wales!) Had everything we needed. Stairs a drawback if physically challenged - use care on narrow steps to top floor. Train line stops directly across the street so very convenient to get around the area without a car.
Absolutely as advertised very comfortable accommodation and anniversary meal at Paysanne was a very enjoyable experience excellent food , but more importantly the service as always was impeccable and very friendly and welcoming
Felt very comfortable and at home in the apartment. Views were fabulous. Very welcoming little seaside town. train at your door. Our host was very accommodating.
Excellent French bistro below.
Definitely stay again.
Accommodation has a French feel.
All amenities were at hand.
Wonderful views overlooking the estuary towards Conwy Castle.
Heating and hot water were on.
Cia, the owner, helped me load the luggage, in the rain , on our departure.
Cia's restaurant below serves great food.
The flat is situated immediately above the owners’ restaurant, with views directly across the Conway estuary. Conway Castle stands proudly on the opposite bank.
The property was easy to find, very well equipped, cosy and warm. We loved its furnishings and decoration, which give it a very friendly ambience. The owner came to check everything was OK soon after we arrived
The restaurant below, La Paysanne, is a delight. We had a tremendous Sunday lunch there.
I would really recommend the flat for a holiday.

Splendid.
Absolutely lovely holiday apartment, clean, comfortable and spacious. Location is just perfect - costal walks, train and buses all on the doorstep. Tour bus stops across the road. Lovely little beach over the road. Quaint little row of shops and places to eat.
The views across Conwy Harbour are amazing, especially at night with Conwy Castle all lit up.
Paysanne Restaurant below the holiday apartment is fantastic - delicious food in a great restaurant with a lovely welcoming atmosphere.
We loved everything about the holiday, so glad we have found this place as we will definitely come back again.
We pass this property many times and had wanted to stay for a while but never had a reason until we had a training course near by and this was our chance. We seriously could not fault anything. Homely, warm, cosy lots of facilities, games, books. It was a dream and we will definitely visit again. Hopefully next time without the stress of a training course and a 'must pass' exam. About the host
Hosted by Cai Ross
Bob and Barbara Ross at your service. We moved to Deganwy in 1988 to open a French country-style restaurant, which we ran here for over 15 years - Barbara being quite the Francophile and a natural in the kitchen. All the while we lived above the restaurant with our two children. Before that, we had been running a successful country pub near Corwen, having spent the previous decade farming in the hills above Ruthin. During that time, I played double-bass with the Merseysippi Jazz Band, which led to me jetting off regularly to America to perform in jazz festivals, with Barbara as my chief groupie. Since "retiring" in 2003, we have lived in the Languedoc in south-west France, in a succession of self-renovated cottages. It is an ideal location to indulge one of our other great passions: wine. Whenever we find a new and exciting wine, we ship it back over to the restaurant to sell exclusively.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with Deganwy as soon as we spotted it. We were keen sailors with a boat restoration project in the offing. As such, Deganwy was ideally located for us on the river Conwy, an extremely popular area for skippers from all over the world. We also found that, having lived a rural existence for so long, Deganwy was a remarkably central location. It is less than an hour's driving distance from Liverpool, Chester, Portmeirion, Snowdonia and Beaumaris. We recently used our renovation skills to transform this waterfront-set family home into an extremely comfortable holiday flat for others to enjoy.
What makes this property unique
Like many properties from the same period, the rooms are very spacious. The décor is unobtrusive and designed to help you relax. The moment we both looked at each other and instantly decided to buy this place was when we first gazed through the living room window at the boat-filled river, over to Conwy castle with the mountain range of Snowdonia set clearly in the distance. We felt privileged to have had such a view on our doorstep for so long.
