Located just steps from the best part of Kailua Beach. The beach is a short walk through Kailua Beach Park where the waves are the most gentle, the sand is wide, and there are plenty of trees for shade, so you and the kids can play and relax at the beach all day.
This home was thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of families. It has a large great room where all can congregate for meals, plan the day, wind down after a full day of activities or just relax. A delicious breeze will soothe your soul as you open the large glass sliders, revealing lush gardens and the pool.
The two master suites are at opposite ends of the home and on separate floors, so that two families can enjoy each other's company, yet still have their own private retreat.
The bathrooms are finished with hand cut stone, oil rubbed bronze fixtures, and frameless glass shower doors in a style reminiscent of a natural Hawaiian spa.
The home has a monitored security system and is a legal dwelling rented for a period of 30 days; ask owner for additional available dates.

The house, pool, and location were great! Our family of 7 had plenty of room and thoroughly enjoyed the pool and easy access to beautiful Kailua and Lanikai beaches. The accommodations and backyard were even better than the pictures. They had all the extras to make the most of the beach (chairs, towels, boogie boards, snorkel gear, surf board, umbrellas, floaties). Very responsive owner and house manager.
The house was beautiful and perfectly located on a quiet private drive just steps away from the beach park. Karissa, the property manager, was extraordinarily responsive, nice, and helpful, and the owner was equally wonderful. I am so grateful that my family (mom, two sons, and sister) could enjoy this paradise, and I hope to return soon. Mahalo!
The experience here was world-class! We felt a part of a wonderful neighborhood with access to great restaurants. Away from the tourist mix but easy drive to Pearl Harbor, Polynesian Cultural Center and other attractions. We travel a good bit and once we’ve checked something off of our bucket list we move to the next place—for the first time we agree-we will return to THIS place! Liz and Karissa are amazing and the property is a true home away from home!
We had a whole time staying in this amazing house. Everything was top notch! Close to the beach! The amenities were fantastic. Definitely would recommend.
Very impressive property and staff. We were there on business and needed an extension and they took great care of us

Not quite what it seems
Pro's
Location, Back yard w/ pool.
Cons's
No a/c in main living area and regardless of dated ceiling fans no cross breezes because of window locations. 2 out of 5 utdated TV 's have service. Living room seating is dated and showing wear / smells seating only 4. Carpeting needs cleaning. Park views OVER RATED..
Have stayed in same Kailua neighborhood 2xs prior with better accommodations and for at least 25% less.
Kailua Beach used to be really nice and the beach views are still impressive but the locals are living there disrespectfully and trashing it up.
Property is Overrated and Not worth $$
This beautiful home is extremely clean, spacious, comfortable and very well maintained. The location is great, being a very short walk to Kailua Beach and centrally located for getting to other activities on Oahu. Both the owner and property manager were great to work with and quickly responsive before and during our stay. We highly recommend this property!
Great rental, beautiful property, excellent location
This is a great rental property for families. The home is beautiful & immaculately clean. All the amenities you would need. The backyard & pool are well kept. It is in an excellent location. We loved being able to just walk across the street to the beach without having to drive, because the beach parking is awful.
The owners & property managers did a great job of giving you all the information you need so there was no need to have to contact them. Love the fact that it is a 4 bed/4bath, so each guest room has their own private bathroom.
My daughter loved the kids room with the cute twin single beds.
Would definitely stay there again.
My family and I stayed at this amazing big house with a gorgeous pool for a week. The host was responsive and helpful with check in and all questions and needs throughout the stay. We appreciated the complimentary treats on the kitchen counter and the cleanliness of the area. We highly recommend this property because it’s steps from Kailua beach which is calm and clear. The property has easy access to every location we wanted to travel to: Waimea, Waikiki, Honolulu airport, Pearl Harbor, north shore, and Ko Olina. Everything was less than an hour away. We would stay here again. The house had everything we needed to cook, save left overs, have many meals, clean up, lots of towels for the beach, a grill, and pool toys. Great experience at this property!!! Mahalo!
Great house for a family vacation, 4 bedroom and 4 baths. We stayed over Christmas and New year and there was 7 adults in our group. Great location across from the beach and you can rent paddle boards and kayaks just a short walk down the beach. The house also has a nice pool area that you can hang out if you don't want to go to the beach. Most attractions, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head,Honolulu and Waikiki are about an a half hour drive away. The pillbox hike is a short walk away and on our early morning walks on the beach we watched beautiful sun rises.
Perfect Kailua stay just across from the beach. The house was amazing and perfectly stocked. Top notch property management as we had an issue with the fridge and they took care of it rapidly.
We had a wonderful stay and hope to make this a yearly visit.
We could not have been happier with our stay at beautiful Ka'hela! We were 6 adults and 2 kids and it was just the perfect space for us. The house is even prettier and more spacious than the pictures suggested (if that's possible). Kellie was wonderful to work with - super responsive and willing to answer my many questions. And she had some wonderful Hawaiian treats waiting for us - which were much enjoyed after a 15 hour travel day!
The pool was perfect entertainment for the kids when the adults just wanted to sit around and enjoy the beautiful lanai - they really enjoyed all of the pool toy options - especially the giant flamingo! We also made use of the beach chairs, coolers and snorkel equipment. The house is very well stocked inside and out!
Also - the location could not have been better. Not being familiar with the island, we decided on Kailua based on online research and after exploring much of O'ahu over the 2 weeks we were there, I can say that Kailua Beach was by far the prettiest one that we visited. The sand is so white and soft and the water is SO blue with gentle waves that were perfect for the kids. The fact that this amazing beach is right across the street from this beautiful property really makes this a wonderful find.
I highly recommend this property! I sure hope that we can make it back to O'ahu one day and would stay here again in a heartbeat! Mahalo!

Beautiful home, great location!
We stayed at Ka'hela in 2007. I was a little worried that the place would feel "old" or too "worn in". Not the case! Still really gorgeous! The trees and other greenery around the property have really grown, which provides a lot of privacy when enjoying the yard and pool. The rooms are clean and beautifully decorated, and the A/C in the bedrooms wonderfully combats the humidity. The home is fully stocked and very organized. The location is perfect -- steps to Kailua beach park, and an easy uphill to the Lanikai loop. Walking distance to bike/Kayak rentals, pizza, drinks, etc. We really enjoyed our stay and hopefully it won't be another 12 years before we return. Highly recommend this rental!

Beautiful home, excellent security, close to a great beach.
First of all, we have rented many homes and condos throughout the years. This is the best stocked home that we have ever rented. The kitchen has all the pots, pans dishes that you will ever need, whether you decide to eat in or go out. The owner even provides containers for leftovers to be stored (first time we have seen this). We were also provided with plenty of garbage bags, dish soap (even for the dishwasher) and laundry detergent. The kitchen also had different sized tumblers for after dinner drinks. This may seem like no big deal for most people, but I have stayed at many high-end places where they were not provided. The home was exceptionally clean and very close to the beach. In fact, we were across the street from a beautiful park by Kailua Beach. The security gate was an added bonus and very easy to use even though we never felt unsafe in this area (we walked to Buzz's Restaurant for dinner). The garage with opener was also an added bonus, nice place to store all of our diving gear. Very nice Tommy Bahama beach chairs with back-pack straps were provided. This home felt as comfortable as our own home, it was definitely nice to be away from the crowds at Waikiki Beach (we did do a beach day there). Kellie, the manager for the owners, had great communication and answered all of our questions promptly. When visiting Oahu, we will surely stay here again and we would recommend this home to our family and friends.

Second Home
This house is just plain wonderful. Modern appliances, granite countertops, two master bedrooms with walk-in closets, two-car garage, washer and dryer, and FOUR full bathrooms. If you're coming from the Mainland you might be thinking, "What's the big deal?" But after having spent a few weeks looking at real estate in Kailua and Kaneohe, I can tell you, this house is a gem, with features that are extremely uncommon here. It is pure luxury, right across the street from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It also has a beautiful pool with lush, tropical landscaping; it really is paradise. My family of six moved to Hawaii and stayed for two months while we were waiting to move into permanent housing, and we loved every minute of it and hated to leave. Kellie the property manager was fantastic to deal with, and Liz the owner, was so flexible and accommodating to our changing schedule; I can't thank her enough. The house is perfect for a beach vacation. Beach towels are provided, and the garage has plenty of beach chairs, toys, snorkels, and boogie boards. I even left a skim board behind for future guests. This was a great stay and I highly recommend.

Beautiful house in best location
Our family of 8 (three generations) had a wonderful time at this beautiful house. The house is in the best location, right across the street from Kailua beach and park and a short walk away from stunning Lanikai beach (we enjoyed snorkeling there). Wonderful views from Pillbox Hike, just up the hill from Lanikai beach. We were able to explore some other parts of the island during our stay with our rental cars (North Shore, Hawaii Kai, Waikiki) and were happy to have chosen to stay in Kailua. The house was beautiful and provided lots of space and privacy for all of us. It was clean, well taken care of and stocked with everything we needed. The kitchen especially was probably the best stocked kitchen we have ever seen in a rental house. We enjoyed the outdoor pool as well as the grill. The yard felt very much like a private paradise. Kellie, the manager, was wonderful. She communicated with us before the trip and was very responsive to our questions during our stay. We hope to return to this beautiful place!

Great family location
The location of this house is fantastic. Walk across the road to the park and 3minuites later you are on Kailua Beach. The pool was nice as well. It is a little crowded out in the pool area and the living room when all 8 of us were in the same spot and there were not enough places for all 8 to sit comfortably at the pool or living room watching the Olympics. Kitchen was great. The house is all of 5 minutes from downtown and centrally located to all of the island and attractions. We had a great time. Special thanks to Kellie who was always available and helpful.

Family Vacation Site
7 adults & 1 grandchild enjoyed our Kailua (the house is in Kailua, not Lanikai) family vacation very much, in large part due to the excellent house we rented. We had plenty of room to spread out, giving us privacy when needed, & a spacious living/dining room & patio/pool area for meals and fun! The beach is nearby, shopping and restaurants are accessible, and downtown Honolulu/Waikiki are a short drive away.

Great house, great location!
Our family of 6 (4 adults, two children) stayed in this wonderful home. We loved how spacious it was, everyone had their own room and bathroom. Every kitchen tool we could ever have needed and more was available for use, and the house was well stocked with paper goods and cleaning items (paper towels, dish soap, laundry detergent, etc).
The amount of beach and pool toys was very much appreciated. Our toddler enjoyed every second in the pool and its just a short walk to the most beautiful beach!
The owner and Kellie, the property manager, were friendly and easily accessible pre-travel and during our stay.
It was wonderful how the bedrooms had AC, however I echo another reviewer in mentioning that it would be nice to have AC in the common space. We didn't get crosswinds blowing unless we had the sliding doors, the front door and the garage door open, which was alright since it's a gated lane, but not ideal. It was a hot August, and a quick dip in the pool or at the beach was an easy resolution as well.
Overall, a fantastic stay at Kahela. Would definitely book again!
