We were in town for a wedding. This was a wonderful place to relax. The house is beautiful and nicely furnished. The one bathroom was not an issue even with six of us. Highly recommend for anyone staying in the area
We absolutely loved our stay here. Thankfully very close to Deer Ridge Estates which was our son's wedding venue. The owner was quick to respond to questions and the house was very well stocked. Would definitely recommend to others!

Stayed here for KU grad weekend. Loved the serenity of the location and the enchantment of the farmhouse. Beds were comfortable, deck was perfect to enjoy the weather and the patio was have a small celebration dinner.

Our family enjoyed the cleanliness, gorgeous antique furniture, and the lovely sprawling property. Well equipped kitchen and the bedrooms were lovely. Very comfortable beds! My only drawback was that one of the bedrooms did not have a/c but otherwise A+!

Beautiful, unique house in secluded, peaceful location
This rental is truly one-of-a-kind! The house has such incredible character, and it is furnished with a mix of antiques and comfortable furniture that suits the architecture perfectly. We enjoyed every moment.

We rented this home for a weekend to attend a wedding at Deer Ridge Estate with our friends. Plenty of room for 3 couples! Home was clean and cozy - interesting decor! Owner was very nice, helpful and very responsive to questions! Fantastic view.
We chose this property because it is close to Lawrence, yet removed from city hustle and bustle.
We were not disappointed. Would definitely recommend.
Thanks!
The property was as listed and the location was close to McLouth, Lawrence and KC. The owner was quick to respond when there was a local power outage. The only downside was that we had to refill a propane tank.

Wayne,
I apologize for the grill tank being empty. We check the tanks regularly but, unfortunately, I have a lot of struggles with guests leaving the tanks on & running the propane out. I am glad you enjoyed your stay though, thank you for choosing the Saunder Inn!
Such a unique and inviting place! We felt like we stepped back in time, but with all the creature comforts of modernity. Property is just as described and spotlessly clean. The front porch was our favorite spot for morning coffee and evening deer watching. If we are in the area again this will be my first pick. Also, property owner was easy to communicate with and a great host!
This is such a beautiful place out in the country. Check in was seamless. Only thing I would say is Google maps took me to the wrong road at first, but was able to find it quickly afterwards.
Very clean with everything you would need. Just wish I had more time to spend there!
Thanks
Joe
Such a neat place, I love the decor, clawfoot tub, the views are great to. Very quiet and peaceful. Very clean and neat. Estee is a great host, communication was great. I recommend to everyone , families, couples, girls trip, guys trip. It’s in town, but feels like you’re out in country. We saw deer 2 different nights and a woodchuck. We will definitely be back
It is a beautiful home, but we could not stay. It was absolutely terrifying there. Old children's clothes used as decor, the vintage toy clown acting as guardian of the staircase, and the best was the handprints of guests in the closet! Not our cup of tea, but it really is a beautful home.
This is a great place to stay in Tonganoxie! It's a beautiful old house with lots of cute touches. There are a/c units in the bedrooms which is so helpful in the summer heat. They worked perfectly. The washer and dryer were important to be able to clean our clothes while on a week long trip. We used the swing and the deck. I spent a nice evening looking out over the 20 acres and enjoyed a white tail deer that came onto the property. The house sits just 1 mile from downtown. We would definitely stay here again.

Not Handicap Friendly!
I will admit, the property is long on charm and in a great location. However, as a partially disabled person, it was very difficult for me having bathroom and bedroom upstairs.
We found some of the decor off-putting, such as the demon baby in the outdoor swing. (Not child friendly!)
Dishes and cookware are adequate. Pantry items are sparse. It rained while we were here, and the incessant droning of the sump pump was a distraction.
Having laundry facilities is a plus.
Our check-in process was not great. We never did receive check-in instructions on the VRBO site, as we have with previous rentals. I messaged the owner the morning of our trip, and she messaged me back the code. When we finally arrived (after being misdirected by Google Maps) we could not open the door. I called the owner twice, only to reach the answering machine. She called back within a reasonable time, but it was long enough to cause weary travellers to wonder if we would have to spend the night outside. Further instructions were given and access attained.
If you enjoy antiques and quirky decor, and you do not mind running up and down a creaky staircase every little bit, perhaps this is your place.
