Weekend getaway
Stars on the Water was everything we’d hoped it would be. The house was perfect for the five of us to relax and reconnect. We enjoyed fishing in the pond, roasting marshmallows around the fire pit, some friendly games of foosball and air hockey and relaxing evenings on the porch overlooking the pond. Thank you!!

Great people to stay with
Thank you for a wonderful stay at your beautiful cabin. The little surprise on the porch got a good scream out of a few of us and laughs by all. The hostess was prompt to contact us and even helped us get in the cabin a little earlier. This was such a blessing to us! We look forward to staying again! Thank you so very much!

About the host

My husband and I live in Chattanooga, TN and have always enjoyed visiting the Great Smoky Mountains. My husband and I both attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and I grew up in the Knoxville, TN area. We both spent a lot of time in the Great Smoky Mountains/Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area (me as a child and both of us while at UTK). We both enjoy the Smoky Mountains and love the beauty of the area. We have been married for 43 years and have three grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and five grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

We chose Stars On The Water (formerly Walden's Roost) because we liked the lake view from the covered porch and the proximity to the national park and area attractions, The location affords the ability to access the property via less traveled and/or backroads thereby avoiding many of the high traffic and frequently congested areas.  The lake is a catch/release lake and the community has a variety of cabins instead of all of them looking cookie cutter.  We enjoy the spaciousness of the great room with comfortable seating, TV, and seasonal wood burning fireplace along with spacious bedrooms with king size beds. There is an air hockey table and foosball table to entertain the kids and outdoor fire ring with seating for those cool mountain nights. Spending time on the upstairs screened porch or covered front porch is a great way to relax and forget your troubles.   The overall amenities and accommodations of Stars On The Water make for the opportunity for a comfortable stay and great visit to the Smoky Mountains.
We also, own two other cabins (Dogwood Haven - VRBO 751222 and You Are My Moonshine - VRBO 1184168) close by and having three cabins so close together makes it easier to provide services to the properties. My husband and I both attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and I grew up in the Knoxville, TN area. We both enjoy the Smoky Mountains and love the beauty of the area.

What makes this property unique

We love the setting for Stars On The Water and the range of opportunities the area affords with the peaceful, wooded lakeview setting and opportunities for exploring the Smoky Mountains, theme parks, shopping, etc. close by. The wonderful view of the lake from the covered front porch makes for time to relax and watch the geese and other wildlife enjoying the water and listen to the birds as they sing. It definitely allows for the opportunity to forget all of the cares of the daily stress and rush that many of us experience and enjoy a relaxing, mountain getaway.
