Place was clean and we all enjoyed the historic details. Lots of room for family to stay during a family wedding. Our standard poodle loved the yard! You are an amazing host Jill. Thank you!
It is a really nice place and we'd stay again anytime. A bit of an older home, but beds we're great, with lots of towels and kitchen items for our large group.
This was a great old historic house that we stayed in for the weekend. Plenty of rooms and a nice kitchen. Beautiful architecture inside. A great place to eat and sleep while enjoying Houghton and the peninsula.
The house was very clean and accommodating to our large group. The host was very easy to communicate with and responded in a very timely manner. We would definitely stay here again!
We love staying here! Jill is a sweet host & her home fits us well for our extended stay in the U.P.
the house is clean with the old house charm in the Copper Country. Thx for your excellent hospitality. We love staying here.
Great place for a large group! Clean house, and close to every activity around the area! Beds are comfy and plenty of bathrooms for large groups. Communication with property owner is excellent, very prompt!
Our family enjoyed staying in this well-appointed house. It’s near a lot of the attractions and near many of the trails. It’s a good place to stay if you don’t mind stairs.
My siblings and our spouses were in town for a family reunion and had a really delightful stay. We loved the house and its gorgeous original details; the location is close to everything we needed (we especially recommend Keweenaw Coffee Works and the Keweenaw Heritage Center); and Jill, our host, was friendly and responsive. Overall we had everything we needed in a fantastic space, and would definitely stay here again!
The house was very nice, very roomy and comfortable. It was also conveniently located. We loved that we could bike over to Swedetown for great mountain biking. There was a nice beach 10 min away we watched the sunset over Lake Superior. Also, being part way between Copper Harbor and Houghton, it was easy to get to either place.
Lovely old home, plenty of space and bathrooms, kitchen is wonderfully stocked. Easy access to all there is to do on the Keweenaw. There is some road noise, being right off of 41, so choose one of the back 2 bedrooms if you are an early to bed person or have young children. Jill is easy to reach and extremely attentive. We would definitely choose again!
Visiting daughter at MTU and touring Keewenaw peninsula.
Our family (5 adults) had a great visit with our Daughter who is attending MTU. The house was extremely clean and easy to access with a late arrival. Location was perfect for day trips to hikes and sightseeing in the Keewenaw Peninsula. The beds were comfy and we had a couple of nice family meals together. Large TV was great for catching Lions game.
This house was perfect for our quick trip to attend our son's gradutaion from Michigan Tech. Every room was incredibly clean and well appointed for our group, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable. Communication with Jill was easy and pleasant. Overall a great stay for our family, and one we would recommend to anyone visiting a student at MTU.
The home was very spacious. Had plenty of space outside for my dog to run around. It was also nice to have access to workout equipment. Only negative I would have is that there is only 1 shower.
The home was perfectly located within Keewanaw County. Beautiful drives north, south, east and west!!! And of course, Lake Superior and all inland lakes are so close. The living room is set up so all feel cozy. Beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen is wonderful. The large window is now on my wishlist for my house :). The host is wonderful and answered all of our questions quickly! We would definitely stay here again :).
We really enjoyed the area & this home was wonderful. Jill stocked the house well w toiletries & towels. The kitchen area was wonderful. The house was clean & comfortable. The beds were especially comfortable, she even had fans & comfy pillows. Jill communicated well & helped answer questions promptly. We are grateful to had a nice, clean, comfy place to stay. Our large family was thrilled. Thank you Jill for amazing hospitality!! We look forward to coming back soon.
We needed a big house for our family for a wedding. The house was very clean and lovely. Filled with charm and character. It was a bit weird not to have a family room on the first floor and only the kitchen...but since we were gone a lot that didn't matter too much. It was nice to all have our own bedroom and three bathrooms were great! It's a beautiful house. It fit our needs very well for the long weekend that we were there! Thank you so much!!

About the host

My husband and I are physical therapists and have been in private practice since 2002. We were able to buy this house in 2016 and move our practice into it. We love the house and saw the potential to allow others to enjoy the house as well.
Why they chose this property
This property is in a perfect location in Calumet and has a great history.
