Quiet getaway

We were lucky enough to view the total solar eclipse here. Before and after the event, our family enjoyed fishing, going out on the boat, exploring the creek and lakeshore, roasting marshmallows, and relaxing. The cabin was clean and cozy.

Cozy cabin with a beautiful lake view

My spouse and I enjoyed our quiet 2 night stay! The other two cabins on the property are closed for the winter so we pretty much had the property to ourselves as we walked around and explored. There was a light dusting of snow from the days before, but it was easy to drive up the hill to the cabin (for our Subaru Forester at least). We were told that there would be plenty of firewood for a fire, and there was but the selection of dry wood was limited since the wood piles had not been covered and thus were wet from the snow accumulation. There was a good selection downer tree branches across from the cabin though, so we were able to gather enough branches for kindling and had a nice fire both nights. When we arrived the first night, the property owner came and told us that previous guest complained of cold temps the night before. So Clayton informed us to keep the flap on the heater up, to make sure the heat would continuously blow. We set the temp to 65 and stayed sufficiently warm, even when the fire went out. Bring warm blankets if you stay in the winter, and you’ll be fine! The cabin had everything we needed - it was clean, secluded, and had a beautiful view to watch the moon rise over the lake, at night. We even saw a bald eagle fly over, in the afternoon. We’re looking forward to coming back in the summer months!

Great Location! Spotty Cleaning

This cabin was great - the property is beautiful and the Amenities provided are all one needs for a nice weekend getaway from the city. However, the cleaning done prior to our arrival missed a crucial element - one of the fold out beds sheets had what appeared to be a sizeable urine stain. Please check the fold out beds, too!

Seclusion

Very quiet and secluded. Lake is in decent shape for swimming. Did not see hardly any fish activity.

Great hidden getaway

The cabin was very well-kept, and the lake was a perfect spot to float on a hot day! Make sure to bring your own chairs to sit outside. 4/5 stars because there was a large group (20+ people) at one of the cabins for the day which over-crowded the dock. Fortunately we brought floaties and were able to take the boat out to the middle of the lake to have our own space. Definitely would come back for a stay!

Great Little Place

We really enjoyed our get away at the Lakeside Vacation Cabin. It was very quiet and secluded, nestled away in the rolling hills of Jackson County, Indiana. The view of Berry Branch Lake was a welcome sight, especially at daybreak and sunset. We didn't use the rowboat that was made available, as we had no life jackets (didn't inquire if they were available though). The cabin has been remodeled fairly recently, as it seemed very up to date. It was evident that everything had been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, even though we added our own once over just to be safe. The weather couldn't have been nicer. A fire in the firepit made for a memorable evening overlooking the lake. Our cottage stay was a perfect break from our "cabin fever" back home.

Perfect country getaway

This little bungalow was the perfect escape for my wife and I to get away from the kids for her birthday evening. Lovely little swimming hole and a clean cozy cottage with a campfire to create a perfect summertime memory.

Relaxing getaway

The cabin was clean and as described on VRBO. The owner was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed the lake, fishing, and campfire at night. This was a much needed little getaway from home.
