Welcome to Creekside Cabin—your cozy lakefront retreat on water of beautiful Lake Burton in Northeast Georgia. Just 14 miles (about 15 minutes) west of downtown Clayton and 25 minutes from Helen, this peaceful cabin is the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.
Nestled in a quiet cove, the cabin offers added privacy and calm—ideal for swimming, kayaking or simply unwinding on the dock without the noise of heavy boat traffic.
We’ve recently made several exciting updates, including a brand-new oven and dishwasher installed within the last year. The kitchen is well-equipped for all your cooking needs, whether you're making a quick breakfast or preparing a family dinner.
One of the highlights of this home is the incredible outdoor space. You’ll find a private swim dock and boathouse, perfect for lake days filled with swimming, sunning, and scenic views. Upstairs, the boathouse features a prep area, grill, and outdoor dining table—an ideal setup for a sunset dinner overlooking the lake. In the evenings, gather around the outdoor fireplace for s’mores, conversation, or a peaceful night under the stars.
Inside, the cabin includes a combined living and dining area and two full bathrooms with showers. We provide a limited supply of essentials like shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, and hand soap to get you started (2 trash bags, 2 dish washing pods, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, and 1 roll of paper towels). The living space includes a TV where you can enjoy a movie or game night with a view of the water.
Please note: PETS are NOT allowed indoors or outdoors. See our pet policy for details.
There are two nearby marinas that rent boats, and a public boat ramp is located just 1/4 mile from the property - right down the road. The cabin comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests—ideal for families, friend groups, or anyone looking to unwind by the water.
Explore the charming restaurants, boutiques, and grocery stores in downtown Clayton, or take a short drive to nearby wineries and award-winning farm-to-table restaurants—all within 15 minutes. Rabun County is known as the Farm-to-Table Capital of North Georgia for a reason!
Outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking, fishing, and tubing are all easily accessible, and the Tiger Drive-In Theater is just 15 minutes away for a fun night out.

This is an amazing property! The most amazing boat dock to watch tv, play games and cook! Such a beautiful location and super convenient to downtown Clayton, Anchorage Marina and local shopping. Highly recommend this property and we can’t wait to come back again!
Great spot for a small group. Wi-Fi was frustrating, but other than that all around everything was terrific

We are sorry for the inconvenience of the internet. Unfortunately, being in a remote area with limited services the internet is frustrating from time to time with weather. We strive to make this a relaxing place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We would love to have you again!
Great home with a great location. We would definitely book again. Owner was great to work with, great communication and details on property/check in/check out.

Thank you! We do our best to exceed your expectations in our little slice of heaven.
We had a great stay at this place. The house was clean and had plenty of room for the 5 of us. The boathouse was cool and we spent a lot of time hanging out there. The next time we make a trip to Burton, we will be looking up this accommodation. Thanks Hunter!
Amazing experience. Truly the best way to beat the summer heat!
We had an amazing time at this place. Thank you for being such a great host. The house, boat house, and the lake scene was a perfect get-away for our family. Escaping the heat of Charleston and coming to your place is going to be put on repeat. Thank you!

Thank you for the kind words. We are so glad you were able to escape the heat. The weather is perfect during the summer months.
Get away to a quiet cove on beautiful Lake Burton. Unwind by kayaking on a glass like lake through the morning mist! Fish off the second floor boat dock and build a fire in the pit for a completely awesome day! Thank you 🇺🇸
Nice quiet cove. Cabin was cozy. Great boathouse. The stove was a bit of an issue. Worked great but all the numbers and arrows were worn off so it was a guessing game trying to cook.
This property was really great. We had plans to dine out both nights but enjoyed being there so much we opted to stay home and grill out on the boathouse deck. It had a true cozy, lake cabin feel throughout and quiet cove location. Quick trip to LaPades Marina and dining by boat or car. Owners were very helpful and so pleasant to deal with. We had a beautiful weekend and would look forward renting here again in the future!
Wonderful time at this cabin on Georgia's beautiful Lake Burton. The owner was great to work with. Communication was fantastic but there will be additional paperwork but it wasn't bad. The cabin was very comfortable. We all slept well and the boat dock was a big hit. It was ideal for fishing, sunbathing, socializing, etc. We rented a boat from LaPrades and that staff couldn't have been nicer. If you want to enjoy Lake Burton and I would recommend this place and couple it with a boat rental so you can enjoy all this lake has to offer.
Our family of four had the best trip with our friends, another family of four! The house was perfect for our group and Hunter was a great host. The upstairs loft bedroom was very spacious with so many beds for our kids.
We had a great time exploring the Murray Cove neighborhood with long walks, swimming and fishing off the dock, relaxing on the top of the boathouse, and taking the boat out. We rented a boat from Gina at Anchorage, and that was super easy and fun! The amount of green space in the front and back was a big hit with our kids, and they loved playing baseball out there and running around.
WiFi was strong enough for us to work from the house.
Hunter was extremely helpful with prompt replies. We cannot wait to come back!

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. We would love to have you return soon!
Fantastic property in a quiet secluded cove. My wife and I had 4 teenage girls with us and we all had a great time. Cabin is as advertised, no surprises. The enclosed loft was perfect get away for all teenagers with plenty of room for everyone. The cove is safe and a perfect spot for swimming, paddleboards and kayaks. Plenty of parking for vehicles and we had plenty of room for our boat trailer. Great location to Murray cove boat ramp. Oven could be updated but spent most time grilling and eating on the massive boat house deck. We met Hunter one day by chance and he is a local owner who is there for support if needed. Fantastic stay and we plan on rebooking in the future. Thanks Hunter!!!

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
It was a nice place for the family because of the flat backyard. The boathouse is nicely done but you do not get access to the interior of the boathouse which is where the downstairs light switch is located I am assuming so the bottom dock is dark and unlit at night. The top of the boathouse is welcoming. The property is not on deep water so you are swimming in shallow water with algae bottom and therefore cannot jump off top of boathouse even in high pool season on lake. The house is simple, shower pressure is good for the area. Back porch is nice area to hang. It is an A-frame fishing cottage. There was not very much room to store luggage so pack light or bring very small duffel bags/suitcases. Parking is easy. Communication is good with owner and he is responsive. There are quite a few rules that come with staying on the property and check in is a bit more paperwork due to extra documents the owner requires. We had a nice time on the lake.

About the host
Hosted by Hunter Hargrave
We built this cabin in 1990, and it’s been a special place for our family ever since. Sharing our home with others means so much to us. We hope you’ll experience the same joy, rest, and connection that we’ve found here over the years. It’s our goal to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible—we’re always happy to help with recommendations (like our favorite spot, Bleu Canoe) or answer any questions during your visit.
What makes this property unique
Creekside Cabin stands out for its incredible lake access and family-friendly layout. Unlike many Lake Burton homes, our property is very flat with minimal steps, making it easy for guests of all ages to get to the water. We offer a spacious front yard perfect for lawn games, relaxing, or simply enjoying the view. Right by the lake, you'll find a fire pit area—a cozy spot for evening s’mores or lakeside conversations. Plus, we have a large parking area, making it convenient for multiple cars or boat trailers. Combined with the peaceful setting in a quiet cove, these features make our cabin a true hidden gem on Lake Burton.
