Load and start the dishwasher

Gather used towels

Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish

Turn off the lights and lock the doors

-Please set the thermostat to the Cooling Function at 75 with fan on Auto in the Spring and Summer months, and set to 60, with heat on during Fall and Winter months

-Please clean out the wood-burning stove, outdoor fire pit, and grill if used.

-Please advise if any beds/rooms were not used during your stay. Most importantly, please inform us 1-day prior to your checkout if you intend on leaving before 10:00 am.

Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

The house is on a beautiful, quiet canal with easy access to the water just a few feet from the back door. The deck space is great with plenty of seating. From other reviews that the owners boat stays in the boat house, I was concerned about parking our pontoon rental; but, there was room to park it next to the boat house and leave it overnight. We also enjoyed the SUP and corn hole. The interior layout is ideal with a very large open kitchen, dining, and living area. The 3 bedrooms are in separate directions from the main area providing privacy. We would definitely rent again.

Clean and comfortable everything you would need for a Burton trip! I would not hesitate to stay here again. Family had a blast!

Lake Burton (& Canals)

Great location, if you don’t mind having lake access via a canal (we didn’t mind). The owner’s boat was not available to us, so we rented a pontoon boat from LaPrades. The owner’s boat is stored at the house making a second boat a bit tricky but doable as long as the water level is sufficient. The lake was about a foot low (according to neighbors) but was still ok for getting in & out of the canal. I don’t know how much lower the water level can go without causing difficulties. Also, getting the boat in & out takes several people. The house/kitchen was stocked well but somewhat haphazard (ex: there weren’t 8 glasses of the same style for meals). Overall, the house & location made a nice vacation.
