Peaceful and cozy! Murray Cove Cottage On Beautiful Lake Burton

Located just 1 1/2 hours north of Atlanta, and 2 hours from Greenville,S.C. , Lake Burton is the premier mountain lake destination of Georgia.
This cozy renovated fishing retreat has lots of windows to view the beautiful lake from every room . The yard is fenced in and has six Adirondack chairs surrounding a large fire pit. There is also a comfy front porch with a large sofa and two arm chairs to view the sunsets. Inside, There are 2 queen size beds and a queen size sleeper sofa. Amenities include WiFi and Smart TV.
Our swim dock and boat house are designed for optimal lake enjoyment.The top of the boat house has a dining table and two sofas, and an umbrella to allow sun protection. The swim dock below is also equipped with lounge chairs and umbrellas. We have recently added two paddle boards for our guest’s enjoyment.
Rental rates are as posted on VRBO. There are discounts for extended stays.
During the summer months we require a week long rental with check in/check out on Sundays. Special rates and check ins apply to major holidays as well.
Minimum Nights Stay varies based on the season from 2 nights in the off season to 7 nights with a Sunday check in/check out date in the summer (see the calendar for available dates). The weekly rental requirement during the summer helps cut down on the wear and tear so we hope you understand.
Special holidays like Memorial Day ( 4 nights stay with a Thursday check in and Monday check out), Fourth of July ( weekly rental only) and Labor Day (4 nights stay with a Thursday check in and Monday Check out) have their own rules and rates. There are discounts for weekly and monthly rentals that apply.

Wow! This place was absolutely fantastic and I would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for a family of four and has some hidden gems. The pull out couch was excellent and one of the best pull out couches I have ever slept on...try it and tell me I'm wrong. Lots of extras included like stand up paddleboards and other water toys.

Lakeside fun

Perfect location on the lake with a wonderful swim dock and lots of fun extras for the kids. The house is lovely. I want to compliment the host because there were some small wifi difficulties but they constantly communicated and resolved the issue. We will be going back

Murray Cove Lake Life

We had an incredible week visiting the Murray Cove Cottage. The home was very welcoming with a beautiful view of the lake. The cottage is charming, well taken care of and offered all the amenities needed. Laura and Matt were very hospitable and made our stay perfect. We would love the chance to visit Murray Cove again!!! ....day one we were greeted with an amazing rainbow into the cove...picture attached

Lake house dream

Amazing house! Very warm and inviting decor. My husband and I had a lovely stay. Was cold and rainy but had plenty of books and games to keep us occupied. Is in a gorgeous neighborhood. Even met the owners passing by! They were so sweet! Would be so lucky to stay again.

Wonderful few days. Extremely close to boat ramp and that saved a lot of time. House was quiet and cozy. October presented a time where lake was quite from traffic both on and off water which made for a peaceful fall break. Will most definitely keep this one on list to book again.

Perfect Family 50th Bday

Our family had an amazing time at the lake, celebrating my wife’s 50th birthday. Everything at the property was on point so that we could completely relax, even down to the utensils in the kitchen, which allowed us to take turns cooking meals for her.

Matt and Laura Freeman have been coming to Lake Burton all of our lives. Natives of Atlanta and Spartanburg we love Lake Burton and are excited to be sharing it with you. We bought Murray Cove Cottage and spent a year totally refurbishing it with all new plumbing, wiring, a/c and appliances.
We love sharing this beautiful part of North Georgia , which we think is like Heaven, with future friends.
We hope you love it here as much as we do!

Why they chose this property

Murray Cove Cottage is the perfect size for one or two families to share. Being located on the north side of Murray Cove ensures that you get sun on the dock all day and the trees keep the house shaded! It is only fifteen minutes from Clayton, GA since it is on the east side of the lake and near Bridge Creek Road. The house has amazing views from the hill across the street from the lake. It is nestled on a flat lot with a yard complete with chairs and a fire pit.

What makes this property unique

The Cottage has easy access with a ramp that leads to a set of french doors. The swim dock with it's umbrella and lounge chairs feels like you have your own private beach. The steps that go down into the water from the swim dock makes it easy to jump into the lake and get out. There are several places to tie up boats for people that want to bring up their boats and put them in at the boat ramp just down the road.
