An alpine chalet in the middle of nature nestled at the foot of Mont-Blanc, not quite like the others...<br>It is located above the very elegant little town of St Gervais-les-Bains, not even old-fashioned: as evidenced by its rich renovated heritage, its thermal baths, its beautiful period hotels, its church, the numerous food shops, nice cafés and other quality shops, including an excellent mountain bookshop.<br><br>Located in the pine forest, at a place called Mont Forcher, at an altitude of 1500 m, with a wonderful view of the Dômes de Miage and the Aravis, this chalet-refuge is accessible in only two ways, to live a unique experience out of the ordinary, a bit like mountaineers who would have planned to live independently for a given time.<br>In summer, you can walk a small path through the woods, backpack (400 m of difference in altitude from a steep road), and otherwise, in any season, you can take the Tramway du Mont-Blanc (TMB) which drops you off 10 minutes walk from the chalet (1 tram/hour, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m.). You park your car in one of the free car parks in town, near the TMB. If you have a well-equipped 4X4, you can hope to get as close as possible to the chalet in summer. On request, we can exceptionally organise trips with the help of a local.<br><br>Once there, what a surprise to discover a vast chalet all made of wooden planks dressed, squirrel coloured, totally in union with the surrounding nature!<br>All that remains is to push open the front door to enter the 100 m2 all-in-one on the upper level. A huge living room is articulated all around a superb stove-fireplace whose flue pierces straight through the high framework. A large bar unit serves as a screen for the very well equipped kitchen, the remarkable solid wood dining room table can accommodate the whole household, i.e. 14 people. In the opposite corners, a reading corner to stand apart, and in the other, a glass room, to hold secrets or conferences, watch films, or invite the children to draw there.<br><br>Let's now take the stairs to go down to the lower surface which houses all the six rooms. Five rooms whose beds can be split in single mode according to the division of the arrivals, one bedroom with bunk beds (sleeps two). Possibility of two additional mattresses if needed. There are 3 bathrooms, two with bathtub, the other with shower. You will have access to the linen room with a washing machine and a dryer. There are three toilets in all. <br>There is access to go outside at the end of a spacious central corridor where there is also a library full of good books. <br><br>We reach in 15 minutes, via the TMB, the ski resort of Les Houches.
