Welcome to A Shore Thing, a retro modern beach cottage. This bright and cheerful escape is perfectly located for exploring the shoreline. Whether you are visiting in the summer for sun, surf and sand or in the quieter off-season, you will find the shoreline is packed with an incredible array of inviting destinations.
The cottage is just 3/4 of a mile from the beautiful private sandy beach.
A Shore Thing is located in the lovely Giants Neck Heights beach association.
The cottage is a 3/4 mile walk to the beautiful sandy beach. Easy access beach parking is also available.
Pet Policy: We welcome 12 small, low or non-shedding dog. We strictly adhere to this policy so please note the breed and size of your furry friend when booking.

This charming, well stocked, cottage offers easy access to beaches and the quaint Niantic Boardwalk with lots of great restaurants, shopping, ice cream shops and more. You will enjoy close proximity to explore popular spots including Mystic, Essex Village, Old Saybrook, Museums, Wineries, Breweries, Art Galleries, Casinos and Shopping Outlets to name a few.

You can enter Rocky Neck State Park from the same entryway as Giants Neck Heights private beach. Rocky Neck offers 7 miles of walking trails where you will find coastal woodlands and salt marshes.
INDOOR LIVING:
Bedroom: 1 Queen Bed in loft area master bedroom. Sleeping options for additional guests: Pull out sofa bed. Note: main bedroom is upstairs and bathroom is on the first floor.
Living Room & Kitchen: Spacious, remodeled living room with cathedral ceiling and skylight which opens to a bright and sunny kitchen and updated bathroom with double sinks and washer/dryer combination. The kitchen is well equipped with stainless steel appliances, pots and pans, coffee maker, microwave, dishware and flatware.
Downstairs has a ductless system for heating and cooling, upstairs has a window AC unit.
OUTDOOR LIVING:
Hang out and relax on the sunny front deck. Gather around the fire pit or gather for a drink at the Tiki Bar in the back yard. The backyard also has an outdoor shower, table, umbrella and 2 chairs, a hammock and grill. The beach community offers a community playground with basketball and tennis court, playscape and bocce lanes. This is a great area to kayak & enjoy walks along the coastline. There is also a boat launch. It is shallow at low tide, and skiffs will need to return by about mid-tide. Kayaks can get in at any low tide except around king tides. For anytime boat access there is 4 Mile River Boat Launch which is 3.3 miles away, or Niantic Bay Boat Launch which is 5.1 miles away.

The cottage has a washer/dryer combination for use during your stay. Parking pass which allows parking at the beach parking lot and access to the beach turnaround to drop beach equipment off are included.

We are a married couple that works together to manage our two rental properties in the lovely town of Niantic. We moved to the CT Shoreline 6 years ago and absolutely love it here! We enjoy sharing our love of the CT shore with others that choose to stay at our cottage. We truly enjoy the hosting experience and are passionate about ensuring our properties are welcoming, comfortable and fun - a home away from home to relax and enjoy life.

We loved the uniqueness of this property - you don't find a lot of chalet style homes on the shore. This home is bright and cheerful and offers a very peaceful and relaxing vibe. What we love the most about this home is the private beach - it's just a short walk away and is lovely!
