Welcome to Van Norden Lodge, a thoughtfully designed mountain retreat in Serene Lakes. Minutes from Sugar Bowl, Soda Springs, Donner Ski Ranch, and some of the area's best cross-country skiing at Royale Gorge.

Spend your days on the slopes, then come home to soak in the private hot tub, unwind in the sauna, and cozy up by the fire. Newly remodeled by interior design firm Colossus Mfg., our mid-century chalet is the perfect escape for families and friends looking to reconnect, relax, and enjoy the mountains.

THE SPACE

Designed for gathering, Van Norden Lodge comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests across four bedrooms, with two king beds, one queen bed, and four twin beds.

Enjoy thoughtfully curated interiors, a fully equipped kitchen, inviting living and dining spaces, and a separate game and media room. After a day of mountain adventures, there's nothing better than a soak in the hot tub or a session in the sauna.

Tucked into the beautiful Serene Lakes community near Donner Summit, Van Norden Lodge is an ideal home base for year-round adventures. Ski, snowboard, and explore snowy trails in winter, or spend summer days enjoying the lakes, hiking, and surrounding Tahoe National Forest.

We fell in love with Serene Lakes for its laid-back mountain charm, beautiful surroundings, and sense of community. Tucked away from the busier parts of Tahoe, it feels like a true escape—where days are spent skiing, hiking, swimming in the lakes, and enjoying the outdoors. We wanted a place where our family could slow down, make memories, and enjoy everything we love about mountain life. And both summer and winter are equally as fun. We're so happy to share that experience with our guests!
