Beautiful location. Spacious accommodations. Love all the king and queen size beds. Fantastic communication from hosts. Decorated for Christmas which we were gathering to celebrate with family from multiple states. Well equipped kitchen with plenty of space. If needed again for a large family gathering, this is the place!
The house is beautiful and very comfortable, but the owners are what make it a truly amazing experience. They were very kind, helpful, and responsive. We felt very welcome in the home, and every question was answered promptly. We will certainly be back!
The hospitality of the hosts was above and beyond. The house was very clean, very comfortable, and perfect for our family's gathering. I booked this house because of the table at which the entire family of 10 could sit together for meals. We are also very fond of older homes that have been remodeled for modern day use -- and this was inspiring!
The Maury River house was a perfect place for our family of twelve’s summer vacation. Beautiful area and surroundings, numerous close accesses to the river, many excursions available in nearby Lexington and the house had all the possible amenities we needed. The hosts were extremely attentive to our every need.
I needed a property that 5 of us who work online could meet together in person and plan together. 3 of the women were bringing their husbands. So, I needed a property with 5 bedrooms and a dining table seating at least eight. I chose this property and glad I did. The property is extremely clean; the owners are very responsive. The great room & kitchen are lovely with two tables — one which seats 10 for dining and another table which was perfect as a work table for us. The bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds. The only thing we would do different is have those who get up often at night sleep on the main level instead of upstairs. The bedrooms are in the original farmhouse section of the house and the wooden floors do creak. It would have been quieter at night if those with insomnia slept in one of the two bedrooms on the lower level. Oh well, next time! The kitchen is well stocked with nice pots, pans & bowls. We had everything we needed to cook all our meals easily. Truly, this is a lovely home in a beautiful location. Highly recommend.
It was a great stay. The house is clean and well stocked. We were there for a family wedding at the Irvine Estate and it was an easy drive. The house has a lot to offer unfortunately we weren’t able to take advantage of it as we were busy with wedding activities all weekend. We recommend this property.
This was one of the best rental experiences I have ever had. This property is terrific. Antique yet renovated. Very kid friendly. Right on the river. The hosts were so kind and welcoming. We will come back and rent here again.
I knew things were going to be great when I saw the detail of the house and all the thought put into it needs for adults, children and emergencies.

This place has it all. Amazing setting on the river, everything you need to spend quality time upside enjoying the outdoors and the river, very well stocked bathrooms bedrooms and kitchen. Spotless and super comfortable.
We had a lovely stay at this property. It was definitely one of the nicest properties we have ever had the privilege to enjoy. So many little details that were thought through and the place was sparkling clean. We will definitely be back!
Our stay was super great here We came in early morning on the day we were scheduled for the house. I texted the owner and asked if there was a chance that we could come earlier than 3:00 PM and they got it arranged where we were able to get there before lunch time. We appreciated that so much Thank you
Lee and Ian’s house is the epitome of comfort and relaxation!! The great room provides an ideal location for family games. The beds are extremely comfortable. Everything was just as advertised. We look forward to returning!
Beautifully upgraded, nicely maintained, well supplied, great outdoor spaces. Plenty of beds and couches and really nice lavatory facilities. Hosts communicated quickly and had a ton of local info and history on site. Little touches and amenities were excellent. One of our group will likely bring his family to this choice. It was off-season for affordability, but what a sweet choice. Devil's Backbone food and brews was relatively close and good rating as well.
The space was amazing, clean, accommodating and every little detail was thought out. There was never a question as to where things were or how to take care of them. This was by far the easiest check out process I have ever done! We would stay again and again. Oh and the yard and views, stunning
We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at this property. Very clean, spacious, and well stocked. We didn’t need or want for anything! The house itself is truly a treasure. A 10/10 experience.
The property is beautiful. The home was well kept and very welcoming. Lee even helped us get a pair of scissors to cut our son’s hair before our big event. It’s the best short term rental I’ve ever experienced.
We stayed here with some members of our horseback riding team for an event at Virginia Horse Center. Just 15 minutes from the Virginia Horse Center, and a perfect spot to hang out with the team’s riders, parents, and trainers. The location was fantastic for kids! We had a fire pit, kayaked on the river, and had lots of fun! He house is very well appointed and the hosts were so hospitable!
Beautiful house and very generously appointed. Perfect location for our three generation family getaway. The owners have provisioned the property very well - high quality linens, comfortable mattresses, a fully stocked kitchen perfect for cooks, many games and toys, a full library of books, and lots of quality outdoor toys. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Highly recommended.
Top of the line- over the top- definitely worth a re-do

About the host
Hosted by Lee Felty
Greetings! My name is Lee Krohn Felty. A cherished part of my childhood was visiting my grandparents in Rockbridge Baths, VA during summers and holidays. In 1985, my parents, Helena Mast Krohn and Richard Henry Krohn, bought the parsonage from the church next door to be our vacation home. Thus began a three decades long quest to restore and remodel The Maury River House so that one day it would be their retirement home. When my mom unexpectedly passed in 2015, the fate of the property became uncertain. With the renovation of the house still very much underway, decisions had to be made. After a couple long term renters and a few years on the market without a buyer, my husband, Ian, and I convinced my dad to let us list her as a short term rental in 2020 and finally complete her renovation. Now, we enjoy nothing more than to share The Maury River House and Rockbridge Baths with our guests! We feel my mother's nurturing and supremely loving spirit lives on in the legacy of those that enjoy her beloved home and the mountains, river, and countryside that hold her heart.
