Large Executive Lake Home On Popular Northern Wisconsin Chain of Lakes

Bring the whole family to this beautiful newer 5 Bedroom home on Chain Lake. Chain ls connected to the Island Lake Chain of lakes with hundreds of miles of shoreline to explore and several bars and restaurants to boat to. This home has all the amenities.

Thank you for considering our very special lake home, which we call Ravensong Lodge for your next vacation. It's our hope that you will enjoy staying here as much as we do and will leave with the same great memories that we have collected Ravensong was built in 2010 and is a truly a special place in terms of the environment and the people.

The Island Chain of Lakes is a chain of 4 lakes -- Chain, Clear, McCann, and Island -- that sit in both Chippewa and Rusk Counties, just 40 minutes north of Eau Claire. These lakes are surrounded by many other lakes and natural land features on the Chippewa Moraine that was created by the last glacier to cover parts of Wisconsin some 12,000 years ago.

Home Configuration:
Two floors plus an exposed lower level, so it looks like three floors from the lake. All bedrooms are located on the second floor or in the exposed lower level.
There are 4-5 steps to enter the main level of the home.
4 bedrooms and a bunk room 5 total. 2.5 bathrooms total -full in basement and second floor, half on main floor.

Number of bathrooms - 2.5 total. One full on the lower level a full on the second floor, and a half on main floor.

This home includes it's own private pier for you to use during your stay as well as a kayak and paddle board. The area in front of the cabin is great for swimming with clear water and mostly sand bottom. The Island Lake chain has some great fishing for walleye, northern musky and crappies. The home also has a beautiful lake side fire pit to relax by after a long day on the water and a indoor wood fireplace to warm up during those cold winter months.

The home also has all the modern amenities including satellite television and high speed internet with an extender that reaches all the way down to the dock.

Need a break from the lake The area offers year round outdoor activities from fishing, boating, skiing, biking, and hiking in summer to hunting, snowmobile trails, ice fishing, snowshoeing, and downhill and cross country skiing in winter.

The Chippewa Moraine Ice age trail is nearby and offers visitors numerous trails both long and short. There is also an abundance of state and county lands to explore nearby,

There are 5 golf courses nearby that are open to the public and there are miles of ATV Trails to explore. The Snowmobile trail runs right on the lake out in front of the house with 1,000's of miles of trail to access without having to trailer anywhere.

4th of July week on Chain Lake

This cottage was just perfect for our family vacation week. It is just charming with all of the comforts of home and necessities for a relaxing week at the lake. Everything listed was in place and ready for us. The docks and yard were nicely maintained. We look forward to returning.

Cycling Get-Away with Friends

Great property for a gathering of long-time bicycling friends. Scenic, paved roads in the area were perfect for daily bike rides of 35-60 miles. Beautiful sunsets off the lake and the fire pit was a perfect gathering place for conversations and s’mores.

Awesome place for a family vaca. Comfortable and spacious lakefront home. Nice shore area with 2 long piers, kayak and paddle board. Sunsets at the fire pit. Good sized lake, connected to 3 others, and not over-crowded. Rented boats from Lake Country Marina in Chetek - nothing fancy but did the trick. Cenex about 10 minutes away had lots to offer when needed. Highly recommend!!

Cousin Retreat

We loved this home! We are a group of female cousins whose parents all grew up in the Weyerhauser area. This home offered us a place to reconnect! Two coffee pots, two refrigerators were perfect. Great Island Chain of Lakes Getaway

A group of 8 adults in their 60's had a fantastic 7-day stay! This home had all the amenities needed for a very comfortable stay for everyone. The open concept main floor was great for the group to gather and have conversations that all could join in. The Kitchen was also large enough that we could prepare meals for 8 people and dine together at one table. The outdoor areas were top-notch too. We used the outdoor deck in the morning and evening and had a couple campfires in the evening too. We are definitely going to book again for next year!

Great vacation at the lake

We had a wonderful time with our family at your lake home. It was spacious and perfect for us, and our children and their young kids. Swimming in the lake and fishing off the dock were highlights for the children ages 3 through 9. We liked the rustic cabin decor, and found everything we needed in the kitchen. The firepit was enjoyed as well as the paddleboard and kayak. In all, we could not have been happier with our experience. Thanks so much.

Beautiful Home on the Lake

We spent 4 nights here as we hiked the nearby Ice Age Trail. Worked great for 7 adults. Well appointed and spacious. Two things for future renters to consider. 1. Property mgmt company requires you to bring your own towels. That was a first for me with dozens of VRBO rentals and I didn’t notice that until we’d left home and 2. Nearest grocery store is an hour away so come we’ll prepared!

Beautiful Stay

We were quite impressed with the home for our semi annual girls weekend stay. The number of rooms, baths, and lounge seating was great for 6 women to sit and catch up. The home was very clean and comfortable, bedrooms and bathrooms excellently cleaned. We would like to suggest updating the cleaning requirements and renter’s requirements for short term stays. We felt that the post stay cleaning requirements were a little overboard considering a hearty cleaning fee is assessed. Just as a note, the driveway was not plowed, and the steps were not shoveled; the wood for the fireplace was left on the porch covered in snow which made it impossible to have a fire which was one of the main attractions for this property in the winter. It would also be great to have a Bluetooth option for music indoors.

Just amazing

Ok, I never write reviews and I have stayed at many Vrbo's. I just felt like I had to comment on this one. It was everything we wanted...and much more. The house was amazing. Very clean and spacious. The backyard and firepit area was amazing and the dock and lake were so much fun and clean. I would say everything was pretty much perfect. My two suggestions is that you put a grate over the window well for the basement room because frogs kept falling in there when it rained and we heard them ALL night. My second one would be to have a fan available for guests. The downstairs bedroom doesn't seem to have a vent and the window well prevents any wind from circulating through. Other than that, it was everything we could have wished for. Thanks a lot for letting us use your home.

I would not recommend staying here :(

When paying this much for a property I expect hand towels, bath towels, hand soap and beach towels to be included. I also expected all beds to have sheets on them. This was not the case. The house had a lot of personal property throughout. The odd decor (American Horror Story style) made the house uncomfortable. We were told the property has two open docks. When we arrived there was only one open dock. Unfortunately we brought 2 boats. We had to argue with the property manager to get him to move the pontoon. I definitely would not recommend this property. All in all quite disappointing.

Grandkids Getaway 2024

We took our 6 grandkids (ages 6 to 12) to Ravensong for 5 nights. It was so perfect. We went to a resort in northern MN in 2023 and all the kids voted to go to Ravensong in 2025. The space was so open and well furnished for games, quiet time, reading, chatting, coffee, etc. the dining room table was ample space for our dinner for 8 each night. The kitchen was so well stocked with utensils, pans, etc. Having 2 full bathrooms was fantastic with the kids. We were pleasantly surprised to have the swim mat in addition to the swim platform in the lake. The 6 kids easily swam out to it and played for hours. The dock made it so easy for us to dock our boat after fishing. The fire pit was perfect for story telling and smores at night. We brought our own wood and enjoyed a fire every night. We appreciate you sharing your home with us. The pictures of family made it even more enjoyable to think of all the memories created in the space. We will definitely go back in 2025 to make more memories with our grandkids. Thank you again!

Ravensong is well equipped and wonderful space for our family of 8. We stayed there in 2024 as well. It has a very comfortable living area, dining, kitchen, and bedrooms. In 2024, in addition to the swim platform, there was a large swim mat that our grandchildren enjoyed. This year, the large swim mat was not available. It might have been a fluke that it was left out in 2024. If it could be added, that would be a plus in future years. While we would most likely rent Ravensong again due to the space, lake, and proximity, it could use a freshen up. It is very dark (even with lights on as they are all so dim). The basement could really use a dehumidifier at all times as it is quite musty smelling. One of the dressers in the downstairs bedroom is unusable due to the old, musty smell in the drawers. Some of the comforters in the basement are beginning to have a musty smell to them as well. The bunk beds are only made with a bottom sheet and comforter. I am not certain that the comforters are washed so they do not seem to be "COVID clean" as advertised.While the kitchen was well stocked for our purposes, it would be nice to have a couple gallon pitchers for lemonade or iced tea. We will put it on our list for next visit. The washer and dryer are an extremely valuable benefit.The outdoor grill, firepit, and dock area are very, very nice. We really love the lake area. Thank you for sharing your lake home. We made many memories!

Family Vacation Week

This was a great house and property for our family vacation. Plenty of room for 5 adults and one baby. Basement suite was better than expected and perfect for baby and parents to have their own space. We rented a pontoon and had a wonderful time exploring the 4 lakes. The week was perfect except for two glitches. First the house was not clean upon our arrival and sheets not on beds. There was apparently an oversight on the cleaning service end with respect to scheduling. After contacting the property manager, a cleaning team came out and got the house cleaned and ready over the next few hours after arrival. They were apologetic and we were compensated for the inconvenience. The second glitch was that someone in our party inadvertantly locked the safety latch on main door and all other doors were locked at the handle. Even with extra key someone had to come out and get us into the house. Sally (Sarah?) and Sam were extremely helpful in this situation. It would be helpful if there were keys available to all doors and locks in case of such a mishap in the future. I would have given this review 5 plus stars if we did not have these unfortunate events occur.

Beautiful cabin with a beautiful open floor plan. Kids and family had a blast. Kids caught bluegill off the dock and had fun swimming. Kids loved the swim up floating dock they could jump off of or lay out on. There are neighbors on both sides but the trees block most of the view to both sides so no issue with privacy. Wife loved sitting on the back porch reading and drinking her morning coffee. Also have a very nice fire pit that includes a pretty cool fake rock that has a built in speaker system so we could hook up our phones, cook smores, and listen to music. We only had 8 people stay with us but easily could have fit many more. Everything was top notch. Deer were comfortable enough to walk and lay down in the yard. Just some recommendations, have towels, maybe add another kayak, and some life vests. I would also have someone remove some of the bigger rocks near the ladder in the water by the dock so its easier to walk. Most of the bottom is soft but there are some rocks that could possibly be moved to make it easier. We went and had dinner at Max's on the Lake. This small bar and grill had amazing food and amazing beer choices. Very nice waitstaff. They will also take your order if you drive up on your boat! Convenient store also down the road that had absolutely everything in case u forgot something. We would highly recommend this cabin and would gladly go back! Cooked great meals and hung out in this beautiful kitchen then played games all night!!!
