I minute from beach. Relax,enjoy wonderful views of sea, sunsets, Kapiti Island.

Right on the beach, 20 metres from the high water mark just south of Paekakariki. Renovated to highest modern standards including fully equipped modern kitchen, walk-in shower with heated tile floor and heated towel rail in main bathroom, separate toilet downstairs, double glazing throughout, 2 sets of lieback bi-fold doors leading to beach-side lawn and balcony off main bedroom with glass balustrade to give uninterrupted view of Kapiti Island and the sea.
Stunning sea, sunset and Kapiti views and you might be lucky to watch a para-glider land on the beach in front of your holiday home. A totally relaxing experience where if the weather is fine you can go for long beach walks or just sit on the lawn and watch the waves, the seagulls or watch the sun go down. Or if it is wet you can just curl up with a book or look out and see the many moods of the sea. It is a 15 minute beach or bush walk to Paekakariki Village with 3 wonderful cafes, the village grocer which has everything you need. Just like an ‘old fashioned’ grocery store. Train station 15 minutes walk or 5 by car. Leave your car there to visit Wellington. 10 minutes by car to Coastlands Shopping Centre. The start of the Escarpment walking track from Paekakariki to Pukerua is 10 minutes walk away.
And if you don't want to cook Fisherman's Table Restaurant is just 3 minutes walk.

This glorious space was the perfect combination for us. A homely , well outfitted space right on the edge of the beach with stunning views to Kapiti Island and over to the top of the Marlborough Sounds. Needless to say the sunsets were quite beautiful. Such a quiet space with the only sound being that of the sea. The owners, who live next door, were so kind and thoughtful ensuring we had everything we needed, arriving in later in the day to find they had dropped the newspaper to our door. Paekakariki village is a short drive, with access up the coast an easy drive. So plenty to do while you are staying. We highly recommend this property and give it a 10/10 in every respect.

Thanks for a lovely review but as you know it is all true. As I always say,you don't need to go to the Islands for a holiday. Perhaps, apart from the tropical temperatures, you can enjoy the beach and the sea right outside your front door and Kapiti Island just across the water.

We loved our stay at Ariki View. Fantastic spot with access directly to the beach, and all the facilities you could want including games etc for kids. Owner’s Penny and Bas live immediately next door and were wonderful hosts. Little notes around the place with great tips 😀. Would love to come back at some stage

Wonderful guests. Even with 4 children the place was left as if they hadn't been in. One of the children did a little drawing in the visitors book of the sun going down. This made there stay even more special.

What a fabulous property and location. We were in Paekakariki for a family wedding so Ariki View was simply ideal for us…..we just wish we had stayed longer. The proximity to the Fisherman’s Table was also an added plus.

Sanctuary in Paekakariki

We had the most fabulous time staying at this beachside property. With two teenagers who could run along the beach while we sat in the sun enjoying a G&T, it was perfect for relaxing. Beautifully clean, and well appointed property with everything there for a wonderful getaway. Owners Penny and Baz were exceptional hosts.

My husband and I live most of our time at Fisherman’s Table, Paekakariki. We do have a small apartment in town which we use if we need to go to Wellington. I enjoy pottering in the garden out here and we both enjoy living in such a lovely place. I really enjoy hosting as I am a ‘people person’ (and a children person’- I taught for many, many years). As I also like to be busy. I spend a lot of time next door at Ariki View making it a really special place for our guests to come too so they can enjoy being out here as well.

Why they chose this property

Being able to look out every day to watch the waves, the sky, the sunsets and Kapiti Island and see the many changing moods of each. Once you catch your first glimpse of Kapiti Island as you pass Pukerua Bay and drive down along the Coast road before reaching Fisherman’s Table you have already started to unwind and though reading this you might think it a little poetic , I do feel we live in “Paradise.”







What makes this property unique

Great sunsets, wave watching, out the door and straight down to the beach and if we don’t want to cook 3 minutes walk to Fisherman’s Table restaurant. It is the most relaxing environment. Being 15 minutes walk along the beach to the special character of Paekakariki Village and for the energetic 10 minutes walk from the beginning of the Escarpment Track certainly all make Ariki View stand out.
