The Lakeside Maisonette is an idyllic holiday home secluded amongst native bush on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with magnificent views across the lake to the Remarkables, Cecil Peak, and Walter Peak. The property borders a Department of Conservation reserve, and there is a walking track along the lake shore immediately below the Maisonette.
Although it is only 6 km from Queenstown, the setting is beautiful and peaceful. You can hear the waves lapping on the lake shore.
The architecturally designed Maisonette is self-contained. Upstairs are a large living area with a small kitchen and a mezzanine platform. There is a wood burner for heating and the main window has a fly screen. A north-facing deck opens out from the living area. The house is perfect for a couple and is very popular as a honeymoon destination.

We loved our stay. The cottage is beautiful and peaceful. Everything was perfect and the photos don’t do justice to the tranquility and peacefulness the home brings in.

Whist the property was pleasant, and the view magnificent, the stay was spoiled by an aggressive host enforcing one of her many, many rules. BEWARE this property is extensively surveilled by CCTV cameras. Please, note, YOU MAY NOT HAVE ANY GUESTS whilst you are staying here.

Yes, we have a few house rules, and these include a maximum of two overnight guests and no 'daystayers'. Guests agree to these rules when the house is booked and we expect them to abide by the rules. It is not correct that, as this guest told us, he had rented the house and can do what he likes.
We do not have any CCTV surveillance on our property. There is CCTV monitoring the shared right of way.
A beautiful place to sit and watch the world go by. Quiet and hidden in away from the busyness of Queenstown. A great place for coupleq. Would love to return. levels are terrific and really
I have stayed in Queenstown many times in the past and the Lakeside Maisonette was by far my favorite. We had to drag ourselves away from the property everyday and looked forward to getting back at the end of each day. The views are amazing and the trail and pier right below the property made it a little haven to really relax.
We loved our stay at the Lakeside Masionette! It had everything we needed and it was just the right size for two! Close enough to Queenstown, but away from all of the crowds. Very peaceful and private. So relaxing to sit on the deck and enjoy the amazing view. Great views from every room, even the shower!
Christine was a great host, very responsive.
The property is exactly as I pictured it would be, the perfect location to explore the South Island of New Zealand. The size of the house was perfect for my wife and me and it was equipped for a small fajitas dinner and a couple of small breakfasts. The only issue was that the views from the property made it hard to leave since it was so breathtaking. We can’t wait to come back!
Had a great stay at the maisonette. You really can't ask for better views than this place. It was so relaxing staring out the windows - make sure you have time to spend at home to enjoy it! Very clean and tidy with comfortable furniture. The bed was not great for us, but that's personal - we like a medium firm mattress and this was very soft and sinkable. The fire is wonderful and adds to the special relaxation of staying here. Recommend booking!
Delightful. Quiet. Méditative. We’ll equipped. Private. Walking path and dock on the shore. Just a delightful experience. As travelers we would have appreciated wifi access. Thank you for a unique and restorative experience. 🙌
We love everything about Lakeside Maisonette. From the warm heated bed, bathroom (heater above the toilet) and living room (wood fire) to the magnificent view. Clean amenities and all necessary essential to make your stay special and comfortable. Most important of all is the privacy. You’re not sharing anything with the owner. It’s a stand alone house.
Lakeside Maisonette would be one of the reason why we would revisit Queenstown.
Beautiful property with stunning views and great hosts
We felt so lucky to stay in this house. The views are unforgettable and its only a short drive into town. Plan some time to enjoy the house and local walks...we highly recommend staying here.
Lovely place to stay, quiet, beautiful and comfortable. Great communication with Christine throughout our stay.
Would love to Stay here again.

Thank you for your review Mathew. I am sorry you did not enjoy the house and would appreciate if you would tell me more specifically what was wrong with everything except the view? I think the house is well described in the listing, so wonder what it was that disappointed you.
Such a lovely location. Very nice house. Perfect for two. Close to town yet away from everything. Will hopefully have the opportunity to go back one day.
Wonderful experience. If you're looking for a real getaway this is the place. Located just outside Queenstown, you're away from the traffic and crowds but close enough if you need anything. Uber was able to find us and it was quick ride into town. Amazing place!
Highly recommend this place. The views are to die for and the peaceful serene location is worth it. 6 mins from queenstown but you feel like your tucked away. Beds comfy and shower is wonderful. Owners are lovely and have some great advice on what and where to visit. Nothing negative at all about this place.
A fantastic location with uninterrupted views of the lake. Easy access to lake and walking trails. Great place to escape the bustle of Queenstown - but still under 10 minutes drive away.
The house is fantastic with huge glass windows and a bathroom with a spectacular view. Highly recommended and I would love to come back again.
