The Perfect setting for your romantic get-away or relaxing time-out.
Fully fenced, nestled in organic gardens. Off-street parking.

If your family needs more/less room: We also offer our romantic 'Birds-Nest', a 2-4 person accommodation please ask for availability /more can also find us on holiday houses as Teacastle cottage if you need to talk to us first.
Listen to the soothing sounds of the waves from your bedroom , tucked away from the busy summer rush,only a short walk from our long sandy beach where you can enjoy anything you'd expect from your perfect beach holiday : dive, fish,canoe, picnic, play, relax, swim, surf,walk -30 min to 5 hour tours along rock walls or towards a hidden island past the rock pools, gather beach treasures - make summer memories to last.
CHILD friendly, 5min walk to the reserve by the sea and playground,
beautiful rock pools along the beach to explore with kids.

We do have a small but colorful bird park and organic gardens: tours, feeding, fresh eggs, organic fruit and veggies by arrangement.
Genuine Mexican hammock, outdoor fire, 3 seating areas and lots of space for cricket,a kiddy pool,bowling -we also have lots of toys and a number of challenging little vehicles,trikes,body boards, indoor and outdoor games.
Self contained with linen and towels supplied.
Barbeque,TV / DVD / free WiFi.
Own Laundry facilities.
Only 5 min walk to beautiful Waimarama beach, popular in summer and winter for surfers, boaties and fishermen or take leisurely walks on the white sandy beach. Patrolled beach over summer months. Golf course, waterfalls and scenic walks all within 20 range . Well stocked local store with take away and off licence. Good Restaurant in village.

House is for a family, 2 adults,2-3 children; children under the age of 6 Years are free.
We can arrange catering for you and always try to accommodate any additional wishes to make your holiday a celebration of life.

Fairytale property

We had a really great time at the chalet! The kids (6 and under) loved the play house, the “tree house bedroom” and all the toys and books to keep them busy. Thank you for the tour of the gardens - we all loved seeing the birds and young chicks and thanks also for the cucumbers and plums from your garden. The property is so child friendly, we could really relax and let the kids explore and enjoy. Thanks for a great stay.

Funky stay in an artistic garden setting

Our family truly enjoyed our time at this very unique accommodation at Waimarama. The location is very private amongst lovely gardens. The hosts George & Marina were welcoming and clearly made a special effort to create this lovely artisan oasis. Endless attention to detail with every corner. The linen and bedding were top quality too! A short stroll down to Waimarama shop & beach. Friendly dogs nearby on host property… my family really enjoyed our 3 days here. Thank you ❤️

Paradise for creative people of all ages

Gorgeous chalet In garden setting with so many sheltered areas to discover. Families of all ages will find this a treat. The garden is also very secluded and securely fenced so we were able to bring our dog along too. It’s a nice walk up to beaches and a dairy. A beautiful place to relax whatever you enjoy. But an absolute fantasy castle for children. So many gorgeous treasures to discover. Thank you for creating and sharing this very special place.

The most relaxing family holiday ever!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Cottage, it was the perfect place get away with my Partner, our two boys (16y and 6y) and our boarder collie. We spent time at the beach and walking around Waimarama, and one day we just stayed at the cottage because there was plenty to do. My youngest loved the playhouse and my eldest was happy swinging in the hammock. We cooked on the Barbecue and ate outside every night under the pergola. Our Pup was really spoiled as the Landlords dog was great company for an occasional play. We were so thrilled to get to walk around the food forrest. Thank you George & Marina, we made a bunch of great family memories and we will be back hopefully.

Relaxed family break

Our family (3 adults, 1 teen) spent a lovely chill Christmas week at this quirky and beautiful property which looks as though it has been built and decorated through a labour of love over many years. Colourful and delightful everywhere inside. Plenty of comfy spots to stretch out with a book or board game in the house, deck, lawn or patio. Hammock and loungers under a tree were a particular highlight in blistering HB heat. Beach is about 1km walk away, via ice creams at the dairy. Hosts were super helpful and unobtrusive and very welcoming of our small dog. Visitors should be aware there are a couple of bnbs on the wider property as well as livestock (sheep, goats, ducks, geese, roosters) so there are a few comings and goings outside the fence but it’s all part of the charm. Kitchen doesn’t have a lot of space but we managed a week of family meals including Christmas dinner without much hassle. Would recommend to anyone looking for a wee break in a unique location.

Great location but somewhat disappointing stay

Pros: Whimsical style of accomodation ideally suit young family with toddlers, we had teenagers unfortunately. Great location, Waimarama Beach township and beach second to none. Fully and well fenced property Cons: Very weak wi fi, parts of inside house without service, dropped in and out frequently losing connection, not great with teenagers. Few missing things in the kitchen. e.g. grater Insufficient toilet paper, dishwashing and washing powder supplied for any length of stay, e.g. x1 dishwasher tablet and x1 sachet of washing powder. Host popped over one to many times during stay. Good batch hosts should be accessible if needed but never visiting multiple times while guests are staying otherwise risks becoming overbearing and intrusive Extraordinary number of cobwebs and flies throughout the batch, few too many cockroaches in the kitchen and BBQ area also. House wasn’t unclean but perhaps a consequence of the free range chicken, rooster and geese bird park enclosure onsite. Upon arrival, but not informed prior, confronted with contract regarding booked and paid for dog, that needed to be signed. Also received text message and personal visit from host during stay seeking contract signing. Originally booked for a dog, no mention of contracts. Dog rules included forbiding leaving our dog in the fully fenced yard for any length of time by its self. This really impacts and limits holiday activities:- beach swims, dinner or brunch out, going to corner store for ice creams or milk, bikes rides around the village, vineyard visits, etc as required to take dog everywhere all of the time, in Hawke’s Bay summer heat that’s not really possible always as way too hot to leave a dog in a car so this surprise rule had a huge impact on our holiday. Had we known there was a page of rules like this for pets, pitched as a contract needing to be signed, we would not have booked this property. Responsible dog owners but felt approach here a bit overbearing and misleading . Property getting a little tired and worn in places, not evident in photos. Noisey roosters, geese and dog on site. kept awake two of the four nights we stayed by hosts dog barking until 11:27pm and 11:00pm respectively, woken every morning in the 5am hour by roosters and geese. Please be aware onsite bird park comes with noise, as does hosts dog. Hosts also live on site. Paid almost two grand for this stay but sadly didn’t leave feeling value for money.

Excellent Place

The Chalet was excellent and Wiamarama Beach and the surrounding areas was a brilliant place for us and our two dogs. The Chalet and enclosed gardens were well presented and had everything we required. The hosts made our stay very welcoming. Would reccomend staying at the Chalet.

A quirky rest after such a long year

Booked almost a year ago because our dog would be able to stay here and go inside the property, and it looked quirky. It did not disappoint. Plenty of room so we could get away from the snorer, the hammock in the garden was so relaxing, there was a "special spot" for each of us to sit and read. The garden was secure so the dog could wander around, and when the owners' dogs came down for a daily playdate, he thought it was wonderful. If there was a downside it was the kitchen. Even though it was fully equipped there wasn't very much room for preparing meals (my family had dumped most of their stuff on the dining table, we ate at the outside table) or storing food, and washing up was an intimate affair. But it wasn't anything that would spoil our holiday. And the shower was too hot for us (I know, they are usually cold and dribbly) but the owner tried to tweak it straight away.

An amazing birthday weekend!

What a special place this is! So much fun to stay here... We celebrated our daughter's 9th birthday and had an amazing treasure hunt around the beautiful artistic surroundings and garden. The children loved the swing, hammock and sandpit... lots of laughter and fun times. Our hosts were very helpful, we really appreciated their hospitality and generosity. It was a real delight to stay in such an interesting, artistic and beautiful house and garden. Thank you so much!

George and Marina are just so lovely. The cottage is superb and perfect for us and our two dogs. We loved the art, the architecture and the gardens. Their place is an oasis in paradise.

Absolutely loved it. It is so great I hope one day I can buy it and live there.

Marina was away as their daughter was in hospital in Auckland. Her husband did a wonderful job of hosting us. There were colourful fresh flowers from their gardens downstairs and a red rose beside the bed upstairs. There were fresh organic eggs on the table and I have prepaid for Duck Eggs to take home next time we stay. I asked if we could view their second property when those guests checked out and loved that too so will also rent that for a funky get away in the next few months. Paul and I both loved it and agreed we would come back and bring our children. Reading through the guest book I also learnt we could bring our dog so I can see why they won a family friendly award afew years back. The tour of the food forest was astounding. I loved seeing all the stunning birds they are breeding, all the lovely flowers, roses and fruit trees. Look forward to bringing friends here when they visit from out of town. Just being there made me happy. Would love to hire both places for a strategic planning retreat for my teaching team too.
