About this property

FANTASTIC BACH near Pauanui Beach

Under Kiwi Bach tradition guests bring their own linen (Towels, tea towels, sheets and pillowcases). This allows us to keep the cost to guests lower.

However, we can supply linen + bath & tea towels if you request. This involves an additional linen charge of $25 per person.

Cleaning of the Bach is included in the overall cost.

The house is located down the end of a quiet cul-de-sac only 3-4 minutes' walk to the beach.

Brilliant indoor/outdoor flow with bi-fold doors opening onto two decks. The front deck is perfect for entertaining with outdoor dining. While the back deck overlooks the tranquillity of the 2nd hole of the Pines Golf Course, a great place to relax.

The house is fully furnished with all the expected mod cons of home, complete with Wi-Fi, smart TV, espresso coffee machine, heatpump, dishwasher, BBQ etc and even a box of books and toys for the kids to play with.

Enjoy golf, tennis, surfing, fishing, boating, lazing at the beach, or a coffee at the cafes at the Pauanui shops. The Bach can also be used as your base for amazing day trips to many of the attractions the Coromandel Peninsula offers to visitors. For those wet days the Bach has a smart TV plus DVD player. You can hook up your Sky box via satellite cable or use the Sky app on our phone and cast to the TV.

NOTE: You need to bring your own linen (sheets, towels & tea towels).

Over the peak Christmas/New Year period the minimum stay period is 7 nights.

Over the holiday long weekends, the minimum stay period is 3 nights (e.g. Fri - Mon).

Special conditions:
1) BYO Linen/Towels
Under the Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to keep the bach tidy, take away rubbish, and do the dishes before you leave. Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels).

2) Outdoor Security Camera
There is an outdoor security camera (sensor light) located on the sleepout/shed used to monitor the access point to the property - driveway/front deck. On guests' arrival, the security camera is deactivated remotely via App.

Load and start the dishwasher
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights, lock the doors and return the keys
PLEASE remember to check all doors and windows are closed and locked on your departure. Take out any rubbish and put in the rubbish bin (red lid).
Turn off the power switch for the Fridge, and leave the fridge + freezer doors open (use oven mitts)
Turn off the power switch for the hot water cylinder
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

Amazing place in an awesome area!

We had an amazing time in our 2 nights at this bach, the house is very modern and nicely set up with plenty of beds for a large group. Great location with just 5 minutes walk to the beach, Loved it! PS. That espresso machine deserves an extra star just on its own :)

Pauanui delight

An absolutely wonderful place to stay. Had all amenities in perfect order and a perfect location. The property had so much to offer in the way of kitchenwares and all the necessary bedding required. Loved the stay, would love to stay again and recommend others, thank you.

All the comforts of home

Perfect for our needs as a well-located base for exploring Pauanui and surrounds. Clean and tidy 3 bedroom Lockwood, right on golf course. Great comms from Scott which I hadn’t initially seen as they’d gone to my spam box. Would definitely stay again if in Pauanui.

Peaceful getaway

We had such a great time. The location is perfect for walks, beach and wharf. The bach is comfy and easy to care for which is handy with the teens. Lots of natural light. Even with all the rain, it was great that we were very comfy indoors. 😀

Nice stay, some suggestions

It’s a nice clean bach near the beach. It’s right on the golf course. It maybe should be a bit clearer on the posting that there are no linen, towels, coffee, hand towels, iron, dish towels, only a couple rolls of toilet paper etc. Thankfully we noticed the night before. Seems a little bit of a pricy stay for what you get considering, but it’s overall a nice bach with a heat pump and laundry. The power is off when you arrive so it’s probably best to arrive before dark.

An amazing place minus internet

The property is immaculate and tidy and has most of what one may need for cooking and baking. I liked the attention to the small details one may need during a short trip. It was just like staying in one's place. However, the lack of Wifi was a bummer in 2022, and I wouldn't say I liked paying the cleaning fee in cash on top of the rent.

Peaceful beach time.

The property was lovely. Clean and tidy and great communication from the owner. A short 5 minute walk to the stunning Pauanui beach. We loved the relaxing egg chairs too. And the mini golf. Nice and peaceful at this time of year!

Awesome family bach

This is such a great bach for a family break, lovely, clean and spacious. The egg chairs looking over the golf course were a massive hit as was the box of toys! A very short walk to the beautiful Pauanui beach and a warm outdoor shower to wash off when you return which we’d love to do!

AMAZING, we loved it. The batch had absolutely everything you need. The location is great. We had two families with kids and there was plenty of space. They also had a great box of toys for my two year old. No need for wifi as there is soooo much to do. Thank you.

Our family lives in Auckland and we have been holidaying in Pauanui (Coromandel) for decades. Our kids have grown up with our Pauanui Bach, learning to surf / play golf / mountain bike the trails.
Pauanui is the perfect spot for people who like to unwind. Or otherwise if you're an active relaxer like me, based on what the weather delivers on the day, I'm surfing / fishing / diving / golfing / wing-foiling / mountain biking etc. All these activities are on your doorstep at Pauanui.

Why they chose this property

Pauanui is especially family friendly, you're off the beaten track, there is no 'through traffic' (like Whangamata / Tairua) which makes it safe and everyone is friendly.
There are winding paths that navigate all around Pauanui, it's a great activity to jump on a bike and ride around and/or stop off at a friends' place for a coffee (or wine/beer).

What makes this property unique

We're located in the middle of Pauanui, and 3-4 mins walk to the beach. The closest beach access is near the windsock, which means you can head North towards Royal Bill Point, or South towards Mount Pauanui. The surf club is an easy walk if you want to swim between the flags. Close to the runway where you can watch aircraft taking off/landing, and viewing the frequent airshow's put on by the Yak pilots.
The Bach is within easy walking distance to anywhere, the shops, the gas station, or the many playgrounds located around Pauanui.
