Number60 is a private, peaceful holiday retreat, nestling in mature native bush, a short walk from Onetangi beach. It’s located in a sheltered and quiet area: adjacent to the Forest and Bird Reserve which offers beautiful bush walks and bird life. Surrounded by Nikau palms, Puriri and Kanuka trees, it’s a favourite spot for visiting Kereru and Tui. Kaka are also about as with Grey Warbler and Fantail.
The 3 bedroom single level house provides comfortable open plan living, great indoor/outdoor flow, large decking with a gas BBQ and drive on access. A 400 metre trip (5 min for the average person at normal walking pace) through the Pohutakawa Reserve leads you to the beach with 2 km of white sand, one of the most beautiful on the island. There are plenty of other activities available close by: world class vineyards, fishing charters, kayaking, paddle boarding, magnificent bush and vineyard walks and coastal tracks, horse riding and the ECOZIP for an extra thrill. There is also a 9 hole golf course close by. Three licensed cafes on the beach front offer a range of food and beverages throughout the day and in the evenings. Note that the Council maintained walkway through the Reserve, while with a great vista, is steep in parts and involves steps that could be difficult for those with mobility issues ( the road can be an alternative for some). Waiheke is an under developed and hilly island that is essentially part of its charm and accordingly accessibility can be an issue for those with disabilities. Suitable for families or couples, this property provides a real taste of Waiheke living. Relax in front of the wood burner on chillier evenings (wood supplied) and enjoy the books and DVD's available. The deck is fully fenced with gate.
A Master ensuite provides for greater privacy and convenience for guests.
The property has off-street parking for many cars however the carport may not be available from May to November.

We have stayed here many times before and would always come back. It's a good size, lovely bach in a very quiet location and easy to get to Onetangi beach. The bach is clean, spacious and very well equipped with a lovely deck on which to sit out and eat. Thanks for letting us stay and hopefully we can come back in the future!

Lovely location.
Lovely location. Very clean and spacious. The only thing that let it down was the water quality. It wasn't pleasant to even get washed in.

Thank you for your comments. Tank water can be quite different to chlorinated mains water you may be used to and we understand that. We had double dose treated the water a week before your visit and the water was clear so it would have been as good as it gets for tank water.

Great property had everything you needed for a pleasant stay.
Great property had everything you needed for a pleasant stay. Only things we could comment on: there was no waste bin, could have done with fans in the bedrooms, and some indoor fly auto sprays. Otherwise we had a good stay. It rained the whole time so the extensive DVD collection was awesome!! Beds were comfy, plenty of blankets etc. would highly recommend

Hi Chelsea, Glad you had such a wonderful stay especially in such muggy and wet weather. In reply to your comments No60 does have a rubbish bin under the sink and red rubbish bags to empty in for collection. There are two portable fans that can be moved anywhere you need, And there are two Fly auto sprays - one high up in the kitchen and one in the lounge. Also several mosquito plug-ins that can be moved to where you need them.. Thank you for highly recommending....Cheers Dale
Easy to find, plenty of space. Nicely set up. Tank water not so good, maybe could invest in a uv filter.

Property was clean and had lots of extras which was nice. Heaps of inside space, good furnishings
Walk through the Bush to the beach was easy but coming back not so much! Sore calf’s the next day 😂. Very relaxing listening to the birds when we were on the deck. We found the water had a funny smell, even when boiled so future guests need to make sure they bring bottled water to drink.

We are pleased you enjoyed the property.
The climb up from the beach is short but steep through the Reserve. Some find it easier to take the road.
All properties in Waiheke rely on tank water that in the summer heat, after a month of no rain, can get aged as the tank lowers, particularly when so close to the Kanuka forest. Thankfully the water clarity remained good. We encourage quests who are not used to tank water to use bottled water.
Lovely place to stay with kids. The bush behind makes for a lovely setting and it is close to the beach. Quiet and well kept and great deck for sitting out to eat. Bach is very well equipped. Thanks for letting us stay again.
We stayed here for 3 nights . Fantastic location , so close to beach . Bach was comfy and spacious. Everything you needed , it was there . Dale the property manager was excellent . Would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay, just a short walk to the beach, lots of native birds in the back garden. Everything was well set up, clean and tidy and was perfect for our stay (4 adults and 3 kids).

Location was excellent for visiting Onetangi beach and accessing Casito Mero, the Batch & Te Motu vineyards.
The Bush provided the contrasting landscape although uncertain of the best track down to the beach. Appreciated the recommendation to the nearest local takeaway. Great burgers and fish n chips!!

The house was really clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to have a really enjoyable stay for our family with two young children. Although there are no sea views from the property it is close to Onetangi beach which is gorgeous and it was lovely looking out onto the bush. We saw kerer?, tui and even K?k? every day which was a nice surprise. We would have no hesitation in staying here again.

Great location and nice house, very well provisioned with good heating.
Great location and nice house, very well provisioned with good heating. We loved the wood burner! Only drawback for us was the lack of sunshine the house gets being tucked down in the bush (the outdoor decks stayed wet all day) but it may be better in summer as we were there in June when the sun is low in the sky.
