About this property
Number Five - Onetangi Valley Retreat.
Summary:
Number Five is a newly completed, architecturally designed coastal retreat set on the edge of the Onetangi wine valley and just up the hill from Onetangi Beach. Warm timber interiors, modern furnishings, and a quiet green setting create a calm, comfortable base for guests wanting easy access to both the beach and the island’s vineyard dining.
The Space:
Number Five is designed for relaxed, practical living with light-filled interiors and a clear, functional layout across two levels. The main level brings together the kitchen, dining, and living areas in an open-plan arrangement, with warm timber finishes and large sliding doors on two sides. When opened, these doors allow fresh air and natural light to move easily through the space, creating a calm, open feel connected to the outdoors.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped, with clean lines and everything needed for everyday holiday cooking. The living area is comfortable and uncluttered, looking out across the lawn and surrounding greenery, which gives the home a settled, peaceful atmosphere.
One bedroom and a full bathroom are located on the main level, making this floor easy and comfortable for couples or guests who prefer minimal stairs. Two additional bedrooms and a second full bathroom are located on the lower level, which is accessed externally. This layout works well for couples travelling together, older children, or guests wanting a bit of separation from the main living spaces.
All furnishings and fixtures throughout the home are brand new and thoughtfully chosen, keeping the interiors simple, comfortable, and easy to live in throughout the stay.

The Neighborhood:
Number Five sits between the vineyards of the Onetangi wine valley and the long white sands of Onetangi Beach. This area is well known for its relaxed pace, open landscapes, and some of the island’s most popular lunch and dining destinations.
Nearby vineyards include Casita Miro for Spanish-inspired shared plates, Tantalus Estate with its vineyard restaurant and craft brewery, Stonyridge for long lunches among the olive trees, and Te Motu for seasonal dining in a peaceful rural setting. Obsidian is also close by and known for relaxed tastings in a sheltered vineyard clearing.
Onetangi Beach is a short walk or drive away and offers swimming, long beach walks, and beachfront dining. Three Seven Two sits directly across from the sand and serves modern island dishes throughout the day, while Charlie Farley’s is a relaxed, family-friendly option from morning through evening.
