About this property

Blackwood Retreat - Oneroa Bay Ocean Views

Summary:

Set high above Oneroa Bay, Blackwood Retreat combines sweeping northern sea views, all-day sun and generous indoor-outdoor living just outside Oneroa Village. The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home sleeps up to six guests, with a king master and ensuite on the main level, plus a queen bedroom and split super king downstairs. Sun-filled decks and onsite parking complete the stay.

The Space:

Blackwood Retreat is positioned high above Oneroa Bay, with sweeping northern sea views and all-day sun from its elevated setting.

The main living level is designed around the outlook. The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge areas connect directly to the sun-filled decks, creating easy indoor-outdoor flow and keeping the sea views central to the living spaces.

The kitchen is equipped for everyday cooking, with modern appliances and generous bench space for preparing meals at home. The adjoining dining and lounge areas open directly outside, making the decks a natural extension of the main living area.

The master bedroom is also on the main level and has a king bed and private ensuite.

Two additional bedrooms are located on the lower level, along with the home's second full bathroom. One bedroom has a queen bed, while the other has a super king bed that can be split into singles on request. This separation between the main bedroom and the two downstairs bedrooms works well for families, couples or small groups travelling together.

Two full bathrooms in total.

Guest Access:

The nearest bus stop is within walking distance and connects easily to Oneroa, Onetangi, and the ferry terminal. Buses also stop near major vineyards including Cable Bay, Mudbrick, and Wild on Waiheke.

Taxis on Waiheke are expensive, and private drivers can also be costly. Hire cars, e bikes, and scooters are often the most practical and cost effective way to explore the island. On site parking is available at the property.

The Neighborhood:

Blackwood Retreat is just outside Oneroa Village, giving guests easy access to cafés, boutiques, and nearby beaches.

For breakfast or coffee, Wai Kitchen and Akito are both close by. Lunch options include Obees and Fenice, offering relaxed daytime dining in the heart of Oneroa. For dinner, The Oyster Inn provides coastal dishes with sea views, while Fenice serves Italian plates in a casual village setting.

Wineries within a short drive include Mudbrick and Cable Bay, both ideal for tastings, long lunches, or special occasions. For something more casual and family-friendly, The Heke offers wood-fired dishes, local craft beer, and a lively outdoor setting.

Oneroa and Little Oneroa beaches are nearby for swimming, picnics, and easy afternoons by the water.

Getting Around:

The nearest bus stop is within walking distance and connects directly to the ferry terminal, Oneroa, Onetangi, and major parts of the island. Buses stop outside key wineries including Cable Bay, Mudbrick, Stonyridge, Tantalus, Te Motu, Wild on Waiheke, and The Heke. Taxis, rental cars, scooters, and e-bikes are available. On-site parking is provided.

Other Things to Note:

This is a self-catered holiday home, not a fully catered stay. We provide a starter supply of essentials such as toilet paper, coffee, tea, and milk to help you settle in on arrival. Once these starter items have been used, guests are responsible for purchasing any additional supplies needed during their stay.

Beach towels are provided at properties with an available pool or spa. Guests staying at properties without a pool or spa will need to bring their own beach towels.

Waiheke relies entirely on rainwater tanks. To support sustainable living and protect local supply, especially during the drier summer months, we ask guests to be mindful of their water use during their stay.
