We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful country setting. Everything was lovely and relaxing. The keypad was a little tricky to use at first, but that was the only minor hiccup in an otherwise perfect experience.
What an incredible farmhouse getaway. Located out in the country like you’d think. The wood stove heat for the living room was awesome. My growing family used it for a Thanksgiving get together. The farmhouse was perfect for that. Very comfortable and cozy getting snowed in there.
We wanted to have a dog-friendly house, away from other houses, centrally located near activities and this is the place! The old farmhouse was very well remodeled and updated. Many antique, almost historic features decorate this place. We also were close to hiking, Mackinaw, dark nights for sky viewing including the Headlands Dark Sky site, fall leaf tour along tunnel of trees, great restaurants all around. Dogs loved the open spaces to run. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Yearly group trip with friends to go snowboarding and was a good place to stay due to its reasonable proximity to local resorts. Wood stove was nice to come back to after a long day on the mountain.Only negative on the trip was the door to get in failed on us and left us locked out at 8:30pm and I could not reach the owner to get a solution. Tried the handle multiple times and was able to get it to catch. Something to note was cell service is virtually nonexistent but the house has wifi which works good.
Good size for our needs. Good bathrooms. Guitar was appreciated. Very quiet which was nice.Troubles with entry door lock and door. Also could use better instructions on keycode since you have to press mire than the #. The slanted ceilings in bedrooms not helpful /potentially safe since close to beds. Kitchen not fully equipped. It would be nice to have some outside chairs. One bedroom door and a kitchen cabinet door very noisy. Not as light and airy as pictured in the add.

From the Owner: "Thank you for your feedback. I’m glad to hear the size of the home, the bathrooms, and the quiet setting worked well for your stay, and that you enjoyed the guitar.I’m sorry you had trouble with the keypad during your visit. After your departure, our cleaning crew tested it multiple times without issue, but I understand it can be tricky if you’re not familiar with the sequence. I appreciate you calling me during your stay so I could provide instructions and let you know where to find additional keys for easy access. The kitchen is stocked with a wide range of essentials, including coffee, sugar, creamer, paper goods, utensils, dishes, slow cookers, air fryers, toasters, seasonings, and more, but I’ll review the inventory to see if anything may have been missed or could be added for future guests. As for the creaky door and slanted ceilings, the home is a 135-year-old farmhouse, and those features are part of its unique charm and history. That said, we’ll look at the door to see if it can be adjusted, and I’ll also consider adding some outdoor seating as you suggested.I appreciate your comments; they help us continue to improve while maintaining the character of this beautiful home."

Liked: Location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness, communication
No communication
When we checked in, one of the bedrooms was not made up and that bed, pillows, and unwashed sheets were covered in dead bugs (a little larger than fruit flies). The toilets often did not flush. The keypad often did not work. We never head from the host when reaching out. One of our party slept in their car because they were so uncomfortable with the house. To say disappointed is an understatement.

Hi Marcey, we're sorry to hear that your stay didn’t meet expectations. The homeowner would like to clarify the following:- We were personally present during the cleaning and can confirm that all beds were properly made with freshly laundered linens and the home was thoroughly cleaned before your arrival.- We didn’t receive any calls or emails from you during your stay and would appreciate any proof of attempted communication so we can investigate further.- Regarding the keypad, we want to note that the home has additional points of entry available if issues arise. We regret that you were uncomfortable and truly wish your stay had gone differently.
