This was a wonderful property to stay in. Many thoughtful touches, a beautiful location and lovely garden. It is also the only holiday home that I’ve known to have a coffee machine, grinder and beans, which were very welcome.

Ernie's acre is wonderfully casual, yet stylish, comfortable and so, so very well appointed! And there's so much room for canine friends to run and play!
Overall this is a very pleasant place to stay. Well appointed, well furnished, modern, lovely garden, great views. Some suggestions - breakfast is no longer provided but perhaps a bottle of local wine and/ or some nice chocolate would be appreciated. Also some personal suggestions on what’s available in the area besides the usual travel brochures. Maybe even a webpage with all sorts of info.
Ernie's Acre was a perfect stay for 2 couples plus a fur baby. House was superb with everything you could need including a gate to ensure fur baby did not wander. Communication with Sue was quick and easy. Oh, and the views from the deck were just sublime. Would definitely stay again - thanks Ernie's Acre!
We loved everything about Ernies Acre, absolutely beautiful in every way! Fantastic location and amazing facilities. The house is tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back!
We had such a lovely weekend at Ernie’s Acre. The house was lovely, spacious and really clean, and it was the perfect place to switch off and relax. We loved the outdoor space and I particularly enjoyed wandering around the garden, reading about what was planted and where. The views from the deck were beautiful too.It was also fantastic for our Greyhound. The garden was secure, so she could safely explore and have plenty of room for her zoomies — she absolutely loved it!The house had everything we needed, and the bath was a lovely bonus. It was also so nice to have cool evenings while we were there and be able to light the fire and enjoy the fireplace. We were really surprised and grateful to find breakfast supplies waiting for us for our first morning — bacon, eggs, spinach, juice, milk, bread, butter and jams. Such a thoughtful touch, and it gave us a great start to the day before heading off for a walk along the Riesling Trail and exploring some of the local wineries.Sue was lovely to deal with — very welcoming and responsive. We definitely came home feeling like we'd actually had a proper break. We would absolutely stay again, and next time we'd love to stay for longer. A great spot, especially if you're travelling with a dog.
Impeccable house and garden. New, modern and spacious. A delight to relax by the wood fire after exploring beautiful Clare Valley. All ones needs were catered for to the highest standard, thus providing a comfortable and peaceful retreat.
Gorgeous views, spacious and spotless country home. Lovely bedding and towels, pure luxury. We loved our stay and our furbaby enjoyed exploring the fully fenced yard.Thank you Sue
Absolutely beautiful house..excellent ammenities & spotlessly clean. Bacon, eggs and bread with jams etc supplied for the first few days. Plenty of outside area for my little dog with great views. Would highly recommend
Beautiful new holiday home in Watervale.Perfectly setup for 2 couples as ensuite in main bedroom & full bathroom directly across hallway from second bedroom. Lovely country outlook from living area & rear deck. Nice and cozy for a winter getaway with combustion heater & split system in living area & split systems in both bedrooms. Would highly recommend!
Watervale has a Suprise or two foe the travelling wine buffs. a delightful home on a huge block with every mod con imaginable.Well equipped and provisioned we spent 4 nights self catering before experiencing the delicious menu offered at the Watervale Hotel. do not miss it.
There is an instant sense of calm and relaxation on arrival. As you step out onto the deck looking down on the tree studded town and out across the valley to the green vine covered hills beyond, you just want to take in slow, deep breaths of fresh country air. Everything feels spacious and open: from the acre of land with its little wishing well and Aussie windmill, budding orchard and sprouting vineyard to the generous rooms with vaulted ceilings and large windows providing views in all directions and glimpses of the cleverly decorated garden and landscape. The place is new and modern with quality finishes and thoughtful touches reflecting an eye for the aesthetic. We visit the Clare Valley frequently and this accommodation is an excellent base from which to venture out and explore the wineries and restaurants or to walk or ride the Riesling Trail. We look forward to enjoying the tranquil ambience of Ernie’s Acre again. Thank you, Sue!
