The listing didn't really show but there is also a living room area for sitting together inside the cottage, not just the bedrooms and kitchen area shown in the listing. Our main issue was there was no water access for swimming which we thought there would be. The shoreline was covered in dead fish and algae so the smell was very strong just sitting by the steps. Byng and Knights Beach are local so if you're looking for a day at the beach plan appropriately. We weren't able to do any firepits as it was a windy weekend. Be sure you bring your own wood, towels and pillows/bedding with you!!! The outdoor space was larger than I anticipated so lots of sunny or shade options. Room for outdoor games!! Plenty of places to sit and a picnic table so you can choose indoor or outdoor meals. The lake facing wall is ALL window which makes for a great view but warm cottage - we couldn't get the AC going but did not report to host just left the windows open. If you're in the small room with the futon be ready for an early morning getting up with the sun!! Check out is 10am as per her provided binder.

It was a great location for a family with kids. The expansive lawn area was great and the waterfront was also pretty good. Although you need to be aware that it has the potential to be windy and full of seaweed. The fire pit was great and was lots of spots to enjoy the outdoors. The cottage itself was pretty good. The room with the futon had toys and games for the kids and was separated from the main living space. Kitchen was ok. Had very basic cooking and serving supplies. However I was disappointed that there are no pantry items. Not even the basics like salt, pepper, sugar and any condiments. Be prepared to bring all those items with you. The bathroom was ok. Functional and clean but somewhat old and could use an update in the future. We were only provided with 2 towels for 5 visitors including 2 kids. Beds were ok. Having to bring linens is not ideal. Overall it was pretty good. Would have preferred a better appointed kitchen, bathroom and linens supplied.
