This amazing, family-friendly home on private lake Verna is amazing and makes a great retreat to escape to!
Enjoy terrific views of Verna Lake from the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and spacious, open deck. The deck is a great space to gather and enjoy the outdoors with plenty of patio chairs, a gas grill, and a convenient outdoor dining area to enjoy all of your meals .
Sweet Verna has all the comforts of home . 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths offer enough space for everyone!
Another great spot is the firepit - don't hesitate to snuggle up with your favorite blanket while the storyteller of the group amuses everyone in the group with amazing stories and tales.
Smart TV, Fiber optic Wi Fi and central AC make for a comfortable stay!

The lake is beautiful, the house included kayaks, a canoe, and pedal boats that you can use to fish, sometimes hooking a bass on the first cast! Fish from the dock every day ! The home is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated making it feel very home-like. There are nearby sandy beaches to spend the day at. Close to Minocqua for shopping, antiques, and restaurants.

Sweet Verna was the perfect place for our family vacation in the Northwoods. It was spacious, clean, and a beautiful deck and pier ro view the lake and hear the loons. It was close to everything and yet was far enough away from town to be peaceful and quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

The cabin was an absolutely wonderful getaway and made for a great vacation. It’s directly on a quiet lake with your own dock and canoes/kayaks for use. The home was well kept and exactly as described. Kitchen is well stocked with plates/utensils/cooking tools, but we ran out of garbage bags, paper towels, and dishwasher tablets. Overall we would definitely stay again and enjoyed our stay!

The serene location and beauty of our surroundings was unbeatable. Access to paddleboard, kayaks and canoe were fun! We loved seeing and hearing the loons and swans on Lake Vera. The cabin itself is very comfortable and cozy. Lots of space! Love the windows and natural light. Campfire pit out back was a great way to end the evenings. One note, is that there weren't any dish towels and not enough bath towels. After an email and phone call, more bath towels were brought to the cabin, which was great! I'm just glad I brought my own dish and hand towels to use. You may want to bring your own, as well. Not a big deal. I'd definitely go back. It's seriously a very quiet and peaceful location. Loved it!

Perfect location for a family extended weekend trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I think my family would all 100% agree that we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Sweet Verna. The distance from everything we wanted to do in Minocqua and Woodruff was perfect. There was plenty of space and enough beds for everyone in our group. Having three bathrooms was tremendous, too. The lake and grounds are beautiful, and we appreciated the paddle boats, canoe and kayaks. The lake water is very clear, but it is pretty shallow so my son had a difficult time fishing because of the vegetation in the water (even in the canoe away from the shore). Wildlife was all around us the whole time, so it is quite an experience if you are not used to seeing deer walking in the water to get a drink or munch on the plants, or bald eagles soar over the lake. The only complaints we have are the twin bed mattresses are extremely firm, and the queen bedroom downstairs had some tiny ants but you are in the woods. We all agree we would stay at this property again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this property. One suggestion would be to update the listing photos, as many appear to have been taken in the winter. The lake and surrounding area are absolutely spectacular during the warmer months and deserve to be showcased.The home is very well maintained and one of the best-stocked vacation rentals we’ve stayed in. There were plenty of towels, extra blankets, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also loved the dock area and appreciated having access to the kayaks and paddle boats. The only maintenance item we noticed was that some of the dock boards are weathered, cracked, and beginning to deteriorate from sun exposure.A few additional details in the listing would make arrival and the stay even smoother. More specific driving directions would be helpful, as our GPS took us on a few wrong turns, which was challenging while towing both a fishing boat and an enclosed UTV trailer. It would also be helpful to mention the bedroom layout (two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs), note that the dishwasher is powered by a kitchen light switch, and include information about the public boat launch located around the lake. It worked well for our fishing boat, though larger boats may find it a bit more difficult.Overall, this is a fantastic property with excellent amenities, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We’d gladly stay here again.

The home was spotless, welcoming, and beautifully decorated in the Up North Vibe. My grandchildren are excited about fishing, and they were very not disappointed! The lake was ok to fish from the dock but unusable by boat because you couldn’t put the boat in because the launch was in bad shape. So we had to go to another lake to fish if we wanted to use the boat, but the house was in good shape. It was clean. The staff was excellent to work with. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great property. Some improvements in info needed. The Wi-Fi code was nowhere to be found. 4 pages of don’t dos but no info about available activities or to dos. Also no bath soap. Info from VRBO, management company and owners book in property were different.
