Overall, this is a good property, and we enjoyed our stay. The apartment was well-appointed and comfortable. You can tell it hasn't been on the market long because it hasn't accumulated the usual kitchen stuff (extra pans, cups, etc.) you tend to see in places, so don't assume anything fancy will be in place. AC was by window units (which we used sparingly due to good temps and airflow through the apartment). Beds and furniture were comfortable. The bathroom is small and a bit tight. One suggestion: some table lamps or something similar, since the overall lighting can be too bright.The location is in the heart of a neighborhood undergoing revitalization; don't let that put you off. The local grocery was very well organized and pleasant to shop at. It had more than I expected, but be advised, you are not looking at a Kroger, etc. The proximity of the Arts District and Wayne University means that while you won't be walking to restaurants, there are quite a few good ones close by. We even found a great gaming/comic book store.Overall, value was good for me and the boys to explore Detroit for the first time. Baring traffic - 20 to 30 minutes to get anywhere we wanted. This worked for us.
